Seeva – „Gemini Moon“ + Exclusive Interview

1. Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to sip on while they listen to your new music

Ooh that’s a great question – I’d have to say a (large) glass of red wine whilst curled up on the sofa is probably the right vibe!

2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

So much new stuff at the moment! The videos for my singles Twenty-two and Gemini Moon are up right now, and they’re from a new EP ‚Afterthoughts‘ which is out on May 13th. There’s a launch gig/party at Colours in London on June 1st, it’s gonna be a fun time.

3. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

1. I’m very much in my ’sadboy‘ era of writing music

2. Identity is always at the forefront for me

3. I write, sing and produce all of my music, and my ‚Afterthoughts‘ EP has been much more collaborative than my past releases

4. I have loads of inspirations ranging from Years & Years and Max Martin to George Michael and Freddie Mercury

5. Everything I write about is something I’ve experienced – I get in trouble for being too specific sometimes!

4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

I’m a big fan of local London designers, I’d have to say my favourite brand at the moment is Boujie Studios. I wear them whenever I can!

5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

Well – the songs being released at the moment are a lot to do about heartbreak, but there’s so much more intertwined with that like my identity as a queer British Asian guy, living with HIV and just living in the world we’re in right now. It can all get a bit crazy out there!

6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?

Is sarcasm a talent? Otherwise – I love being in the kitchen. If I didn’t do music, I would be a cook.

7. Being on stage feels like….!

Connection! It’s incredible to connect with an audience who are engaged with the music. Especially post-lockdowns, it’s the best feeling..

8. How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??

I’ve always loved to sing, but I realised as a teenager that writing and producing allowed me to sing exactly how I wanted. But I do remember writing a song at the age of 5, and I think it was about how much I loved pizza.

9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

I’ve never been asked about my hair – I used to have a buzzcut but decided to grow it out. I still feel the urge to shave it off and bleach it so check for updates!
