Adina – „Schwarzes Konfetti“ + Exclusive Interview

Hello, thank you for your time, please introduce yourself in a few words!

Hi, I’m Adina and I am a singer and songwriter from Germany. I live in Heidelberg. Besides my music I study law and philosophy.

Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

I’ve just released my debut single a week ago. You can also find a really nice music video for it – we shot it in the rain. In the next months I am going to release a bunch more and next year I am going on tour.

Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

I make German-speaking pop music with urban influences. I love direct lyrics, because it is liberating and honest.

For a long time I didn’t make the music I wanted to make because it didn’t match the expectations of others around me. Since 1,5 years I am finally writing and doing my own music and it’s one of the best decisions I made so far. That’s why it’s important to me to encourage others to stand up for themselves and go their own way.

Music makes me brave and self-assured. I write songs about stuff I wouldn’t normally get to say.

I write songs for people who like to feel deep feelings and want to unfold – for everyone who celebrates life with all ups and downs.

For me, the best part about being an artist is playing live.

What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

Diesel or Ivy Park. Maybe one day I’ll make my own, so there’s a brand that’s a 1:1 match. Would be trendy, independent and straight streetwear.

Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

I deal a lot with acceptance, drawing boundaries and breaking out in my lyrics. I process what happened when I was young and what I am experiencing today.

I am convinced that every person has a valuable place in the world – in order to find that we have to get to know ourselves. That can hurt, but there is always a lot of liveliness and beauty in feelings if we don’t judge them immediately, but first perceive them and feel them to the end. I wish that my music will be a companion for special moments, deep feelings and getting to know ourselves.

Beside music, do you have any special talents?

I can type insanely fast – probably because I had to write so many term papers for university in just one night. And I can wiggle my nose. 😉

Being on stage feels like….!

belonging. I feel whole and right.

How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??

When I was 4 I started to learn classical violin. I didn’t discover my passion for pop music and singing until Michael Jackson died and I heard his songs in school. Then I started to make a lot of music as an interpreter, also on professional basis. 1,5 years ago I started to write music by myself. I just do it – make the music I feel and thrive on.

A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?!

„Are you happy?“
