The limited-edition collection features 20 styles, including camp collar shirts, swim trunks, sweatshirts and sneakers, and all based on rare summer-themed prints from John Derian’s archive.
Todd Snyder is proud to introduce a new collection of summer styles featuring vintage prints from John Derian’s archive. This second collaboration follows on the heels of a bestselling debut collaboration in February 2021, and it represents the natural next step in the duo’s creative partnership with Derian acting as the official print purveyor for exclusive limited-edition styles only available at Todd Snyder.
“When John and I got together to design our second collection, John was talking about his store in Provincetown, Massachusetts and working with a seaside theme,” says Snyder. “This Derian-at-the beach direction really appealed to me, and so we started looking at antique prints of harbor scenes and marine life and then created shirts, swim trunks, sweatshirts and sneakers that will be great conversation starters at the pool, or the beach or a cocktail party.”
Collection II features 19th and 18th century prints depicting sea shells, crabs, whales, seaweed, clipper ships as well as a skull & bones taken from The Devil’s Toboggan Slide, a 19th century placard used by the temperance advocates to inveigh against the evils of saloons and gambling. These eclectic and charming images find their way onto Made in the USA sweatshirts, Snyder’s new swim line, camp collar shirts and sneakers from Vans, who have been making slip-ons and lace-ups for skateboarders since the 1970s.
