Tobias Jensen – „Drifting Apart“ + Exclusive Interview

Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to zip on while they listen to your new music?

I recommend a classic gin and tonic to sip on while listening to my new music. The crisp and refreshing flavors of the drink perfectly complement the vibe of the music, creating a relaxing and enjoyable experience for the listener.

Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

My new song „Drifting Apart“ is out on Friday, and I’m excited for everyone to hear it! As for my debut album, it’s set to be released May 31st. Stay tuned for more updates on tour dates and new videos coming soon!

We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)

I’d wish that the conspiracy theory would be true that Elvis Presley would still be alive. It would be amazing to see him make a comeback and continue to share his legendary music with the world.

What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

My music can be best described by the minimalist and sleek aesthetic of Scandinavian brands like Acne Studios and Minimum Fashion. Their clean lines and modern designs resonate with the vibe of my music.

Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

My songs explore a range of topics, from my hopes and dreams to my deepest love and also my deepest sadness. I draw inspiration from just everyday experiences of my time on this planet, weaving them into heartfelt lyrics that hopefully resonate with my listeners.

Beside music, do you have any special talents?

Aside from music, I have a passion for cooking, traveling, and an interest in politics. I wouldn’t call it a talent but cooking allows me to express myself  in the kitchen, while traveling exposes me to new cultures and experiences. My interest in politics keeps me engaged in current events and social issues.

Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

I suffer from OCD; I’m super tidy and for example have my cables in perfect order during my live concerts.

I also suffer from ADD so I get distracted very easily but at the same time I get inspired by many things.

I’m left-handed and play the guitar upside down.

I also write songs for other artists, I’m a music teacher, a session musician, and I also make playlists for international airlines. One of my favorite part-time jobs to date was working as a monkey mascot for children’s concerts though.

I’ve been living as a musician in Switzerland for more than half of my life (over sixteen years).

How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??

Honestly I have no idea what I’m doing! I began covering songs from Linkin Park back in 2003 and then suddenly I was messing with my own lyrics (which were crappy back in the day). I hope they got better. At least, it allowed me to now have this interview with you guys so I guess I’m doing fine!

One tip: Always start with the hook of the song. If you got your main message, the rest of the song will almost take care of itself.

A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

No one ever asked me about my weirdest moment at a live concert. So I’ll answer that one for you.

I played for the opening of a restaurant and I had the weirdest noise on the speaker. I checked all of my effects pedals and everything but couldn’t locate where it was coming from. I kept playing and the noise still continued, it was even musical to a certain extent but it made no sense whatsoever.

In the end it was a friend of mine who had taken a wireless microphone because he wanted to support me. It was greatly appreciated but why didn’t he just tell me beforehand 🙂
