Soeckers – „Sie sagen mir“ + Exclusive Interview

1. Hello, thank you for your time, please introduce yourself in a few words!

Hey there, we are Soeckers an indie rock band  from a small city called Ahaus in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

We‘ve just released our second studio album recorded with Paul Gallister (e.g. Wanda) in Vienna, Austria

3. Name 5 things we all should know about you as a band?!

– We‘ve founded the band without actually playing instruments in 2014 just because of sharing the same taste in music (e.g. The Beatles)

– Besides the band we‘re best friends in addition Nils and Lars are brothers

– Some people say our music sounds kind of like a mix of Oasis‘ Britpop and The Strokes‘ Garage Rock just with german lyrics

– Everyone of our band sings at least one song on our new album „Nie Wieder“

– Our band name is actually the nick name of our closest friends who was the first drummer of the band

4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

Second Hand

5. What’s your songwriting process?

Someone of the band comes over with a new idea or song fragment, then we put our heads together and write the song together with the whole band. Most of the time decisions are made pretty democratically. On one hand that can cause a lot discussion potential but on the other hand we value everyones opinion and get the best songs this way.

6. If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

Streaming payments do not match the inputs both in time and money.

7. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

Transience and melancholy run thematically through the album „Nie wieder“ (translated: „Never again“), the beautiful as well as the less beautiful sides of irrevocable change. Dreams lost to time and unforgotten feelings. It is always about the disharmony between gut feeling and head decision.

„Nie wieder“ is an emotional slideshow of memories: the football field back home, old relationships, friends and moments. The beauty of a „never again“. Maybe all these moments were so intense because there was an end.

8. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls
