Pond Cph Mens Swimwear Survey 2022: Women want to see men in speedos

Women overwhelmingly support men wearing speedo style swimwear. And men are more than ready to say bye, bye baggies. According to a survey conducted by the Scandinavian trailblazers of the much-heralded ‘return of the speedo’ phenomenon, Pond Cph, the time is now to ditch the long board shorts and say hello speedo!

The past couple of years have seen both stylish swimmers and practical dippers eschew baggy and uncomfortable board shorts for much chicer and functional ‘speedo’ swimwear styles. Pond Copenhagen has been at the forefront of this movement with their perfectly cut and beautifully made premium briefs.

However, something seems to be holding some guys back from taking the leap and wearing a swim brief in public. To get to the bottom of matters, Pond Cph asked its global community (not only customers!) about their swimwear preferences. And to get a female perspective, too, predominantly danish women were asked about their view of men’s swimwear styles.

More than 450 answered the survey making the results a good indication of the broader opinion. These are some of the findings:

•More than half of danish women are ok with guys wearing something a little sportier, with a 60% approval rating of speedo style swimwear

•Nearly 90% of men are happy to wear skimpier swimmers and only 5% prefer full -length board shorts

•Body looks seem to hold both men (52%) and women (46%) back from wanting to wear speedos or see speedos on men.
