MCM and BAPE® Reunite for a First-Time Capsule for Lunar New Year

The wait is over: German luxury fashion house MCM teams up with renegade Japanese streetwear powerhouse *A BATHING APE® (BAPE®) for another highly anticipated capsule for Spring/ Summer 2024. Building on the hype of their debut collaboration in 2019, the two iconic brands reunite to redefine the aesthetics & attitude of luxury streetwear, celebrating the Year of the Dragon for Lunar New Year for the first

time.

The two ground-breaking brands have been woven into the fabric of music & pop culture over multiple decades – MCM for the logo-embellished bags and luggage worn by the ’70s and ’80s jetset, BAPE® for the genre-defining apparel born from an era of youthful ’90s indulgence. The latest MCM X BAPE® Lunar New Year Edition capsule is characterized by a fearless play with pattern, playful graphic applications, and the fusion of BAPE®’s notorious shark motif with MCM’s signature Visetos. The infamous BAPE STATM logo becomes the centerpiece of the collaboration and is enveloped with a golden dragon symbolizing unapologetic confidence and irreverent style in the new year.

The Shark Hoodie, designed in Black & Cognac Visetos, proudly boasts the collaboration logo emblazoned over the monogram as well as the quintessential BAPE® shark motif, woven over the hood’s exterior.
