Reflection is a steady process. The past two season designer Mario Keine has followed the inner question where his signature is rooted in and how it has been shaped and affected his own past. This intrinsic motor of self-reflection led in a remembrance process of earliest days of childhood, trying to understand what infantile fascinations and interests are still subconsciously showing in the design process and are still valid obsessions decades after.
Autumn/Winter 24/25 marks the last part in the reflection-cycle of MARKE.
Last season’s collection paid homage to all fascinations that has been laying and growing in oneself from birth on. This season, the collection is referencing and honoring external influences and factors.
‚Every human is the product of their environment‘.
Originally based in environmental psychology, the collection does not address social studies but pays homage to all people and intersections of one’s own past. To those moments and memories of people that path one’s way of life constantly, leave the path, come back – all leaving a mark on one’s own character, shaping the person one becomes. Starting into life as a blank space without emotional ballast, every moment and contact leaves a talisman of memories that are collected and carried through life as charms. This collection of charms grows over time and becomes a more and more eclectic cumulation of experiences and defining moments. The collection is rooted in the designer’s personal review on which specific people have changed and shaped which periods of life, going systematically through episodes of childhood, coming-of-age and days of studies.
Pragmatism and precision from the father, emotion from the mother, thoroughness learned by catholic schools and rural upbringing, deconstruction through mentors and reconstruction by oneself. Historic influences of christening robes, childhood clothing of the 90s, Couture shape of the 50s. The collection is a journey through aesthetics and influences, gathered, brought together as said eclectic collection of charms, given to me by everybody I’ve ever met.

‚Allezeit bei mir‘ – ‚Always with me‘
The sound piece, composed exclusively for the show by Robert Eisinger, supports the concept with a soundscape that gradually unfolds and gradually gains depth and complexity – just as different experiences and influences gradually shape one’s own life. The composition is entitled „Don’t vient cela“ and is inspired by Renaissance dance music.
As established in past seasons, all collection is developed in Köln and produced in Germany and Poland exclusively of circular material from over- and deadstock.
