KLAY CARTIER – „My Type“ + Exclusive Interview

1. Hello, thank you for your time, please introduce yourself in a few words!

Hey, My name is Klay Cartier!

2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

So I just released a single called,”My Type” and I’m releasing another single called,”The Great Escape” coming out March 9 of this year! I’m really excited for it! As far as an album coming out I plan on releasing one very soon I’m just putting some extra time in it to make sure it’s everything I need it to be.

3. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

I write all of my music, a good portion of my music is produced by my closest friend who goes by Blackfingers, I can come off as a people person but I’m very much an introvert, I went viral on TikTok with a video that’s sitting at 2.2 million views, and I’m an avid gamer.

4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

Hmmmm I guess a fashion style that would describe my music would performative I guess? I don’t even think that’s a style but I think of my music as very dramatic.

5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

All of my songs come from personal experience, so Love, Sex, Heartbreak, etc. It’s everything I’ve ever been through and how I’ve dealt with it and grown from it.

6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?

I can act! I found out how good I was back in high school when the first time I ever auditioned for a musical I was casted as a main character over kids who had been trained and had been involved with acting longer than I had. I’m definitely looking to get back into acting though.

7. Being on stage feels like….!

Being onstage feels like home. I know that sounds corny but it’s true, my whole life I’ve felt as if I never belonged anywhere, like I didn’t fit in anywhere but onstage I feel as if that’s where I belong, things start to show down and even though there’s a room full of people I feel as if it’s just me.

8. How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??

I’m a self taught writer, but I began singing at a young age, I was in choir from the time I was 6 until I graduated. I recorded for the first time in the 7th grade and started releasing music in 2018.

9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

A question I’d like to answer is,”What motivates you?” And to that I’d say my motivation is my family, my mother works so hard and she fully supports me. Between her and my baby sister I don’t know who’s my biggest fan but they make me want to give this my all even when I get down and feel as if this is all for nothing. So my family keeps the fire burning for me.
