Joey Harkum – „Sick and Tired“ + Exclusive Interview

1. Hello, thank you for your time, please introduce yourself in a few words!

Hello! My name is Joey Harkum and I am a singer songwriter and touring musician from the state of Maryland

2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

We just put out a new single called Sick and Tired that is a re release of an old song I recorded back in 2008. We also have a new solo album coming out April 14th call Salt and Tar and we are very excited about that one. Lots of meaningful lyric driven songs.

3. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

I write from personal experience or of experiences from people that are close to me. As much as I am a songwriter my characters in my songs are always people from my life.

I grew up in Maryland off of the Chesapeake bay and a lot of my songs have metaphors of nautical life. When I’m not touring I’m on the water!

4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

Blue collar. We are regular working people making relatable music for working people.

5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

A lot of my songs are about drug addiction and the live and culture built around it.

Songs of optimism for a better future than was given to us.

Lots of traveling songs and drinking songs!

6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?

I’m really good at making money disappear! Just kidding. I’m a new father so all my energy goes to being the best dad I can be when not touring

7. Being on stage feels like….!

Being on stage feels great when you have the crowd engaged and everyone is having a blast there’s nothing like it. Kind of like an adrenaline rush.

8. How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??

My dad played guitar growing up and he taught me!

9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

Not sure? Maybe why do you write? I would say it’s personal therapy that luckily other people can relate too.
