The collection not only includes products made with 100% pure Merino wool, but also introduces innovative plant-based fabrics that align with the brand’s mission to offer a natural alternative to synthetic performance clothing.
A highlight of the collection is the award-winning 200 RealFleece™ Descender Midlayer. It serves as a light and technical intermediate layer made of plastic-free materials. Runners will also be able to fully rely on natural clothing in the future: icebreaker is expanding its running portfolio as one of the core activities for summer 2024. The new Speed Tee and the matching shorts achieve a new level of functionality thanks to the fusion of Tencel™ Lyocell and Merino wool . This season, icebreaker is also introducing its first seamless collection for women, using bio-based alternatives to nylon and elastane.
Lightweight warmth made from natural fibers: with the 200 RealFleece™ Descender LS Half-Zip, icebreaker offers a high-performance alternative to classic synthetic fleeces and wins the ISPO Award for it. The synthetic fleece category is known to release microplastics when washed. To eliminate this problem, icebreaker uses a combination of 60% TENCEL™ Lyocell and 40% merino wool for its new midlayer, for full functionality – but without plastic. The result: a particularly light midlayer for strenuous activities and an ideal balance of warmth and breathability. The roughened inside also impresses in terms of comfort.
