DeusExMaschine – ‚Good Thing‘ + Exclusive Interview

Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to zip on while they listen to your new music?

Oh, for sure! You know what, let’s think outside the box here. How about a craft cocktail with some elderflower liqueur, muddled cucumber, fresh lime, and a splash of soda? It’s crisp, refreshing, and got that unique twist that pairs perfectly with the laid-back, funky beats of this new track. Mix it up, kick back, and let the music take you on a ride.

Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

Absolutely, I’m stoked to tell you about my new single, „Good Thing.“ Working on this track has been such a journey. It’s a blend of deep house and nu disco, and it’s got those summer vibes that make you just want to chill by the pool with friends. Good Thing“ is all about embracing positivity and the good times in life. I hope it becomes the soundtrack to many great memories for everyone who listens. You can find it on all major streaming platforms.

We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)

Haha, that’s an interesting question! You know, there’s something fun about those wild and harmless conspiracy theories. If I had to pick one I wish were true, I’d probably go with the idea that there’s a secret dance club on the dark side of the moon where all the greatest musicians and artists from history are jamming together. Imagine going to a party where Mozart is dropping beats with Hendrix and Daft Punk, and everyone’s just vibing in zero gravity. Now that’s a scene I’d love to be part of!

What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

Oh, that’s a cool way to think about it! My music, especially with the new single „Good Thing,“ really vibes with a style that’s both retro and modern. Just like wearing a piece from Missoni or Versace can turn heads and elevate a moment, I hope this track does the same for listeners, adding that splash of luxury and excitement to their day.

Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

Certainly! My music, especially the recent works like „Good Thing,“ revolves around themes of positivity, connection, and self-expression. I strive to create tunes that resonate with people’s emotions and elevate their daily experiences. My previous track, „Sax“ painted a picture of dimly lit jazz clubs, chance romantic encounters, and the raw, unscripted moments that happen when city lights meet the music of the night.

Beside music, do you have any special talents?

Oh, absolutely! Besides my passion for music, I’ve been a massive geek, fascinated by all things digital and AI, for over 20 years now. Ever since I was young, I’ve been captivated by how new technologies can change the world, create new opportunities, and transform the way we interact with one another.

I love tinkering with programming, exploring the latest advancements in artificial intelligence, and diving into innovative tech projects. The way music and technology intersect is particularly thrilling to me, and I often find inspiration in technological innovations for my musical creations.

In fact, this passion has allowed me to experiment with various production techniques, and I believe it’s added a unique flavor to my sound. It’s exciting to be part of an era where creativity and technology are merging in such dynamic ways, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds

Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

For sure! So, if you’re looking to get to know me a bit better, here’s the lowdown on 5 key things that really define me as an artist:

– Vintage Sampler Love: I’m all about those vintage samplers. The unique sounds and textures they create? They just add that extra flair to my music, bridging old-school vibes with fresh beats.

– Started Spinning Vinyl: Yeah, that’s right! I started mixing on vinyl 20 years ago, and it’s given me this authentic connection to sound and the art of DJing that still influences my style to this day.

– Living Encyclopedia of French House Music: I’m kinda like a walking, talking French house music library. I’ve spent countless hours exploring all the ins and outs of the genre, from the classics to the underground tracks. If you need a French house music history lesson, I’m your guy.

– Inspired by Tech: My geeky side’s not just for show – I love integrating technology and AI into my production process. It’s all about pushing boundaries and seeing how tech can bring a fresh spin to my tracks.

– True to the French Touch: Being originally part of the French Touch movement with legends like Daft Punk and Cassius, I stay true to those roots while still venturing into new territory. It’s all about blending the past with the present, creating sounds that resonate on a whole other level.

How did you learn to produce??

Learning to produce was really a blend of hands-on experimentation and learning from others. I started off mixing on vinyl, which ignited my passion for sound. From there, I dived into playing around with vintage samplers and synthesizers, learning by trial and error.

Along the way, I had the privilege to collaborate with some great talents in the French Touch scene, and they helped me refine my craft. As technology evolved, I embraced digital tools and online resources, constantly growing and adapting.

It’s been a wild ride, filled with creativity, exploration, and never-ending curiosity. The journey never really stops; there’s always something new to learn and discover in the world of music production.

A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

Question: „How does the atmosphere and environment where you create your music influence the final product?“

Answer: That’s something I’ve always wanted to dive into. The space where I create music plays a huge role in shaping the vibe of the track. You know, „Good Thing“ was all about capturing those easy, breezy summer vibes. It actually came to life during a vacation, right on my laptop, after coming back from the beach each day. I’d spend hours at the beach, just soaking in the sun, the waves, and the carefree atmosphere. Then, still feeling that sun-kissed glow, I’d head back and start working on the track. That whole beach vibe, the chill of the sea, and the warmth of the sand found their way into the music.
