Dadi Freyr – „Moves to make“ + Exclusive Interview

1. Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to zip on while they listen to your new music?

Beer. That works for me at least, if you don’t drink beer then maybe a glass of water or something?

2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

I’m touring around Europe in September and December. Releasing 4 new songs in August, that’s when the full album will be out since I have been releasing it in parts.

3. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)

Would be pretty cool if earth turned out to be flat, just because that would make so many other magical things more probable.

4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

Just whatever is closest to you when you’re getting dressed.

5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

I tend to write about whatever I’m thinking about at the moment. I talk a lot about self worth, family and friends, juggling your personal and professional life… my life I guess.

6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?

I think I am ok at graphic design maybe? I don’t think I’m very good at anything but I am ok at a lot of things.

7. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

I produce all my music myself, mostly alone but I’m starting to be more collaborative because it’s just way more fun. I don’t really care about my legacy as a musician, I do what I want when I want to without really thinking too much about the big picture of how I will be perceived in 20 years. I get way more ideas than I act on. I work with distributors and publishing companies but I am an independent artist, so I can basically do whatever art I want. If it stops being fun to do this in my life, I’m gonna do something else.

8. How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??

I took some drum and piano classes as a kid and then I just learned by doing.

9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

Nothing in particular I think. The first thing I think about is the tendency I hear a lot that good art needs to come from a place of hurt and suffering. I hate that mindset, I tend to draw from the positive experiences in my life a lot more than the negative. Buuuut I am also privileged to have had a good childhood, supportive family and friends and financial security, so that’s maybe why.
