Canada Goose x Pyer Moss

Acclaimed couture label Pyer Moss, known for being reserved and highly selective in their partnerships, is launching an outerwear collection with leading performance luxury brand Canada Goose. The Canadian brand has a long history of collaboration partners, dating back almost 20 years, with the first being Alife, in celebration of Canada Goose’s 50th anniversary in 2006. Since then, it has gone on to create stand-out collections with Y/Project, Juun.J and Vetements amongst many others. The latest global campaign led by renowned designer Kerby Jean-Raymond features nine pieces with distinctive Pyer Moss branding and signature Pyer Moss colors throughout.

New York City-based Pyer Moss was founded in 2013 by Haitian-American Kerby Jean-Raymond. At the intersection of culture, activism and heritage, the brand continues to redefine itself with collections and shows that combine storytelling, debate, theatre and social commentary. Kerby Jean-Raymond, the first Black American designer to show at Paris Couture Week in 2021, continues to break boundaries with his designs and narratives. This collection is one of many upcoming projects from Pyer Moss in the fashion and cinema spaces.

“This collaboration with Pyer Moss is particularly exciting to us because the brand goes beyond the realm of creativity and style, it’s a powerful driver of culture that continuously sparks important conversations,” explains Penny Brook, Canada Goose Chief Marketing & Experience Officer. “We are defining the Canada Goose & Pyer Moss collection as ‘luxury performance’ because of its intentional focus on bringing together bold design, meticulous craftsmanship and enhanced functionality, for those who expect the highest performance and quality from their garments while also having fun with their style.”

In April 2022, Pyer Moss debuted its first-ever handbag range and in-house women’s footwear line. In bright red and yellow, the offerings are reminiscent of the brand’s 2021 couture collection, which starred sartorial representations of Black-created inventions. The new Canada Goose x Pyer Moss collection revisits these bold primary colours for 2023. This unique partnership offers a space where Pyer Moss’ bold, distinctive design meets Canada Goose’s unparalleled warmth and functionality.

The windswept wave baffle construction of the collection and elliptical hemlines create a unique, dynamic look for those who want to stay warm while expressing their personal style. Paired with bold colours like red, yellow, blue and black, branded details including embossed linings, the oversized Canada Goose disc, unique Pyer Moss shaped appliqué and hints of Pyer Moss wordmark branding placed throughout the styles, give each piece its unique, unmistakable identity.

Kerby Jean-Raymond, founder of Pyer Moss, says “I am proud to announce my collaboration with Canada Goose which illustrates luxury performance and design. Together we have created something truly bold, vivid and functional that delivers on comfort and warmth. This collection marries the bright colors from previous Pyer Moss collections with the familiar silhouettes of luxury outerwear we know and love from Canada Goose. These pieces are a new take on the dynamic style that I grew up with in Brooklyn, reimagined in a way that they can be worn anywhere from urban adventures to expeditions in the wild.”

With wave-inspired quilting, contrasting colour combinations and side seam zippers, the Wave – Parka 001 is made with Recycled Feather-Light Ripstop Shiny, the water-repellent and wind-resistant fabric that is soft to the touch with a durable, shiny finish. Detailing includes co-branded fixed backpack straps, a shock cord at the hood and a patch pocket on the chest with a D-ring attachment. Similar to the Wave – Parka 001, Crop Wave – Puffer 001 in Recycled Feather-Light Ripstop Shiny features wave-inspired quilting and a subtle high-low elliptical hem creating a windswept silhouette. It reverses to a clean finish colour-blocked shell with a chest pocket for two unique looks in one.

The CG Disc – Puffer 001 displays bold, wave-inspired colour blocking, two large front flap pockets and a padded elbow patch with contrasting Pyer Moss “PM” stitching, while the CG Disc – Vest 001 features wave-inspired quilting, contrasting colour combinations and the windswept silhouette. With its classic anorak silhouette and a 1⁄2 zip, the CG Disc – Anorak 001 is made with Kind High Pile Fleece and Recycled Feather-Light Ripstop Shiny to provide premium softness and warmth with maximum durability, with co- branded shock cords at the hem and a hood.

A Canada Goose classic with a Pyer Moss twist, the Wild Brick – Overall 001 is inspired by the signature Tundra Bib Overalls with colour-contrasting trims and stitching, and a Pyer Moss yellow zipper pull. The epitome of comfort, the CG Grab – Cargo 001 includes a button cord lock at the waist and mixed-media fabrics. For treks across the concrete jungle or deep into the wilderness, the Wild Brick – Boot 001 is made for every kind of expedition, keeping feet warm every step of the way with quilted padding, a unique cinching system at the top edge to customize fit and trap heat towards the body, as well as a structure that allows the wearer to feel balanced and comfortable in most active or city conditions. To complete the collection, the Logo – Balaclava 001 is made of 100% Merino Wool and has a ribbed knit finish on the crown complemented by clean stitching on the convertible cuff.

Along with the collection, Pyer Moss and Canada Goose will be debuting a short film, including a directors cut, shot exclusively for the campaign. Jean-Raymond directs the film about climate change, telling the story of a young woman seeking to find and feel snow in a world where that’s now only achievable by entering a simulator that’s owned and operated by a reclusive inventor, played by Jean-Raymond himself.
