Zalando, one of the leading online destinations for fashion and lifestyle in Europe, is launching “GANT Remake”, an exclusive capsule collection from the American sportswear brand GANT and Highsnobiety founder David Fischer. Together with GANT Creative Director Christopher Bastin, David Fischer was inspired by the brand’s extensive archive and reinterpreted well-known American sportswear classics such as varsity jackets, rugger shirts and Oxford button-down shirts.

The limited-edition collection features eight pieces inspired by silhouettes from the 1980s and 1990s. At its heart are three different interpretations of the Varsity Jacket: The first variant consists of an Italian wool blend, which is complemented by calfskin sleeves. The second Varsity Jacket features a combination of cotton and recycled polyester, giving the classic design a modern twist. The trio ends with a windbreaker made from a cotton blend made from technical and lightweight gabardine, enhanced by a collar made from soft calf suede. Two rugger shirts made from 100% cotton with distinctive block stripes also complement the collection. The selection included three GANT classics that belong in every modern wardrobe and have been reinterpreted for the capsule collection. The Oxford shirt with a button-down collar in fine cotton gets an update with a loose, almost oversized fit, extended sleeves and a wider cuff that ensures a modern everyday look.

“The inspiration for the Remake collection comes from a variety of sources, including vintage pieces from GANT, contemporary streetwear trends and cultural influences from around the world. We wanted to reinterpret classic GANT garments with a modern twist, giving them an urban style as well as functionality and more sustainable aspects. The collection gave us the opportunity to combine our sense of contemporary culture and streetwear with GANT’s long tradition and timeless style.

“It’s exciting to look at classic designs from a new perspective and create something unique that resonates with Highsnobiety and Zalando audiences as well as GANT’s loyal customers,”

explains David Fischer, founder of Highsnobiety.

The collection is accompanied by a campaign that explores GANT’s Ivy League heritage and traces how campus classics of yesteryear have become streetwear staples of today. The campaign is inspired by vibrant campus life and is reminiscent of GANT’s roots at Yale. This captures the essence of the 2024 Ivy League look.
