1. Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce you to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to sip on while they listen to your new music?
My pleasure.
Your readers can take a sip on anything that they enjoy.
I would hate to think that someone is listening to the album and drinking something that they either hate or haven’t tried before.
We only need one new thing at a time!
If you’re interested though, I am a Whiskey guy, so that’s what I’ll be sipping on this evening.
2. Please give us an update about your upcoming new album Scars, Ghosts & Glory?
I can’t wait for the release of the album.
As part of the album launch we will be starting the ‘Any Rooms’ tour.
I will be asking for people to invite me to their home, work- place, park etc to do a free ‘pop-up’ gig.
So if i’m in your area, and you have a room. Ask me and I might show up on your doorstep!!
3. What topics and messages do you hope to put across in your new music?
Scars Ghosts and Glory is my life story, and a journey towards acceptance of who I am, warts and all.
If the album has one message, it is that it is ok to feel different.
4. How did you learn to write music?
Actually, I don’t read or write music in a traditional sense. I was given a guitar at Christmas when I was 21 and became obsessed with it.
I taught myself how to play, and as soon as I was making recognisable noises, I started trying to write songs.
5. Name five things we all should know about you as an artist?
I can sing but I can’t rap!
I hate Ukuleles! (They should only exist on a beach in Hawaii)
I am totally unable to pretend to like something if I don’t!
I talk to myself alot but I’m ok with it.
I am obsessed with asian films & series like The Monkey King & One Piece & The Nine Tailed Fox.
6. Besides music, do you have any special talents?
I am secretly the worlds best Swordsman.
Ok, I am not, and I would definitely not know what to do with a sword!
I literally have one magic trick I can do that still fools my kids. One incredibly awful ‘Dad’ joke’, and I can juggle but that’s about it.
7. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
I like to think that my music is honest, and not following trends or fashions.
I love timeless, effortless and undeniable when I look at fashion and brands. So if I was going to go for anything it would be Omega Seamaster watches.
Classic, understated, and no need to show off.
8. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before? + Answer pls
After so long plugging away in the music industry, don’t you think if your career was going to take off. Surely it would have happened by now?
No, I actually don’t agree at all. I would have loved for my debut to have happened 10 years ago, but I wasn’t ready. I wasn’t good enough and I didnt believe in myself or music. The album is about acceptance and resilience
