1. Hello, thank you for your time, please introduce yourself in a few words!
Hi! I am Ténéré, my real name is Pierre-Elie, I am 31 years old, I make music that mixes Soul with Electronic Music, Hip Hop and soundtrack music.
2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!
My EP „Be my Guest“ was just released, with a very nice music video for the track „A Qui l’Honneur ».
Remixed versions are coming soon as well as remixes I made for other artists.
3. Name 5 things we should all know about you as an artist ?!
-A good studio session should always be accompanied by some good cheese and a bottle of natural wine.
-When I’m lacking inspiration, I go ride my motorcycle, it’s the best remedy against the blank page syndrom.
-My two best friends in the studio are a Fender Rhodes and a Prophet 08, I compose 80% of my music with these two.
-I grew up in a family of classical musicians, and the first instrument i touched was de family’s harpsichord
– I only compose at night.
4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
An adventurous and chic style. I like noble materials like leather, but not when they don’t leave the closet.
For me, clothes should bear the hallmarks of life, and shoes that are too clean are rarely a good sign.
5. Do you have bad habits? A guilty pleasure that you can’t seem to leave?
The midnight cigarette on my Parisian balcony.
6. Besides music, do you have any special talents?
Nobody beats me at Jungle Speed.
7. Being on stage is like….!
The most exhilarating and terrifying thing ever. It’s like riding a motorbike way too fast on a winding cliff-side road.
8. Must Have – and No-Go in your wardrobe! – Favorite fashion brand and perfume?
My favorite clothes are a pair of Redwings which must have circled the earth 5 times, and a leather aviator jacket which comes from a stock of the French army from the 60s. I buy most of my clothes in second-hand stores without paying much attention to the brand.
No-Go are bad quality clothes from large retailers that exploit humans.
My Perfume is « Gris Dior » by Christian Dior.
9. A question you would like to answer, but which has never been asked in an interview before ?! + Reply pls
Why is the track Be my Guest called that? Because it’s an instrumental for which we never found the right featuring (despite several attempts) so I left it as it is coz it worked well as an instrumental and also as an invitation for people to do what they want with it.
We didn’t have to wait long, a first guest came to us spontaneously, a dancer called Dylan Jolly, filmed by Paul-Etienne Lucas. Let’s see what comes next!
