Tee Dee Dees – „War“ + Exclusive Interview

Hello, thank you for your time, please introduce yourself in a few words!

So I am Tee Dee Dees (Ori Mark), a musician and a journalist based in Tel Aviv. During the days I’m the editor of Haaretz weekly magazine. During the nights I’m working on my synth-pop project with my producer Ben Shopen.

Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

Last Friday my first single, War, was finally out. In the coming months we will be releasing more songs from the album, which will be released during 2022. On August 13th I will be performing at the kolorado Festival in Hungary.

Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

In recordings, when I sing, if the result is not expressive enough – I try to sing naked.

I have no commitment to any genre. I hope that in the future I will be bolder, and be able to create a synthesis between different styles.

The lyrics are very important to me, but I think the melody should dictate the writing.

Some of my drum recordings are actually vocal sounds I recorded.

In the end, I always obey my producer!

What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

I guess my style tries to resonate with the music – a mix between 1980s and contemporary music, nostalgia alongside an atmosphere of space and futurism. That’s why I adopted the make-up look.

Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

As for the lyrics, I always try to escape from trying to explain them. As for the melodies, it seems to me that the idea is to get people to dance and cry almost at the same time.

Besides music, do you have any special talents?

I play soccer with players who are 15 years younger than me!

Being on stage feels like….!

… there is no gravity.

How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??

I never did. Maybe I should.

A question you’d like to answer but have never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer please

Is it true that you never touch caffeine and sugar when you’re in the studio? Yes! Stimulants slow down the process.
