SUCHII – ‘Fila Fila’ + Exclusive Interview

Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to zip on while they listen to your new music

Mimosa with a splash of cranberry juice.  I love the bubbles.

Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

My first EP “Summer On Venus” dropped last Thursday and is available on all streaming platforms.  Right now, I’m preparing for more music releases by recording new content and strategizing with my team.  I’ll be entering the new hot and fast.

We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)

I’m a fan of Twilight so I think the theory of vampires being real would be awesome.  Could you imagine living that long and never aging?

What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

Per my title track – Fila

Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

I habitually get my heart broken and hate the feeling of love because I get so blinded by it.  A lot of the topics I cover deal with the life lessons I’ve learned by falling and out of love with the wrong guys and girls.

‘Fila Fila’ is still within the realm of love, but more about having a crush.  As a queer youth, I never heard music that I could identify with – I liked girls, guys, nonbinary people, and everyone.  As an adult, I wanted to make a song that everyone could sing a line or two of that resonate with them.  ‘Fila Fila’ is just that, inclusive love.

Beside music, do you have any special talents?

I can see the future in my dreams.

Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

I write all my material and consider my songwriting as one of my strongest skills as an artist

I’m queer, black, and cute

I’ve started adding choreo to some of my material, and in 2023 you can expect to see more full performances

My biggest influences are: Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Babyface, Lil Nas X, and various 90’s R&B/pop artist

I’m nervous but excited for the future – call it ‘nervcited’

How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??

I grew up in the church singing with the choir then kept singing in the shower and the car by myself.  Even to this day a lot of my family don’t know that I can sing.

A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

Dream Collab?  I’d love to do a collab with Lil Nas X and Saucy Santana – like a modern day ‘Lady Marmalade’ but more queer.
