Spacey Jane – „Lunchtime“ + Exclusive Interview

Hello, thank you for your time, please introduce yourself in a few words!

Hey we’re Spacey Jane, a band from Fremantle, Western Australia!

Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

We’ve just released a new track called ‘Lunchtime’, along with a music video to go with it!
We also recently announced some tour dates for the UK and Europe, including shows in Berlin, Hamburg & Cologne. Plus Caleb & Kieran just moved house, it’s a pretty exciting time!

Name 5 things we all should know about you as a band?!

1- Despite being a Perth band, none of us are actually originally from Perth!

2- Kieran and Caleb have been playing in bands together since they were 15.

3- The first song we ever played together was California Waiting by Kings of Leon.

4- Kieran was actually born in Mettingen, Germany!

5- For a brief moment we were almost a psych rock band because that was pretty much all there was in Perth when we started out!

What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

All things cowboy related.

What’s your songwriting process?

I (Caleb) usually write the bones of a song  which goes through many revisions before I record a demo and show the rest of the band.  After that we build up from there and usually end up pulling out a lot of parts and sounds so that the song ends up being the simplest version of itself.

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

That’s a tough one!  I think better access to the right information and advice for young bands would be pretty high up on the list.  So many amazing artists misstep because they don’t have good guidance and I think that means the world misses out on a lot of great music.

Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

I try to talk as openly and concisely about the things I feel and the experiences I’ve had.  That ranges from family problems to breakups to mental health struggles and I try to connect to a listener and find shared experiences and moods that everyone can understand.

A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

I would love someone to ask me if I want an all expenses paid trip to the Amalfi coast.  My answer would be “fuck yes”.
