2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!
Since we released our new song, ‘It’s All Good’, this summer has felt a little brighter. It’s a refreshing, playful track to remind people to not take things too seriously. It’s energetic, in your face, and makes it clear what it feels like to be motivated and on the come up. Perfect song to turn the speakers up and roll the windows down.
3. Name 5 things we all should know about you as a band?!
- First and foremost, we’re brothers – and we feel like we’re one soul split into two. We’ve had each others backs since we could barely walk, talk, or even rap
- Our first ever live performance was on the TV show, ‘The Voice’, where we put our own twist on Natasha Bedingfield’s ‚These Words‘. Battling our way through the competition, we teamed up with Black Eyed Peas legend will.i.am who was confident that we „can put the Midlands on the map“
- Rio (the younger Smokiecoco brother) is a GB athlete who recently added two World Championship medals to his growing collection
- Alex (the older Smokiecoco brother) works for Sony Music, helping release music from some of the worlds biggest artists such as Beyoncé, Harry Styles, and Travis Scott
- This is just the start for Smokiecoco. We’re ready, locked and loaded. We’re here to bring you summer anthems all year round.
4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
Our music feels like wearing your favourite T-Shirt. The one that makes you feel on top of the world every time you leave the house. It adds a little bounce in your step and let’s you be the best version of yourself.
5. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)
We’d like to think 2Pac is still out there. Chilling in Cuba, sipping some rum, listening to the latest Smokiecoco
6. If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
Rap has always been our dream, and we want to take everything we do to the highest level. Because of this, we wish it was easier to do music full-time, and dedicate our lives to what we care about.
7. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?
We write our songs for everyone – both you and your mum will love us! We bring an authentic fusion of playful energy with UK rap, experimenting with vibrant beats and dynamic back-and-forth. We’re jokesters. We’re the sweetboys of UK rap. And naturally, as sweetboys, we might have to rap about our love interests – just a little bit.
8. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls
We love a good ‘Would You Rather’ question! One of our favourites is “Would you rather live in a world where all songs exist but they are all performed by Pitbull OR a world where only one song exists (it’s Pitbull’s Hotel Motel Holiday Inn) but it’s performed by every artist with their own cover interpretation?“ Personally, we’d love to hear a Pitbull cover of ‘It’s All Good’!
