Sebastian Krenz – „Wonders In A Mad World“ + Exclusive Interview

Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to zip on while they listen to your new music?

Get your favourite drink, whether it’s a water, a coke or pinacolada. Personally, I really like to drink pinacolada when I’m meeting up with my brother, for example.

Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

I wrote my current single „Wonders In A Mad World“ for my daughter Matilda.  It is THE declaration of love to her and THE love song for all children, parents and those who will become one. My album „Loving Out Loud“ will be released on 05.05.2023. Why this album title? Because I have so much love to give, but could never really live it the way I wanted to. In my current relationship I finally feel like I’ve really arrived. After the album release I will play a few shows in Berlin, Hamburg and Erfurt.

We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)

I would love to communicate with a well-meaning alien one day. Should they actually live among us, it would be very exciting to exchange ideas with them. We could certainly learn a lot from them. Especially with regard to technical progress and also how we deal with each other

What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

I honestly don’t know that much about the different fashion styles, but just briefly describe to you how I dress for my concerts: I usually come in black ripped jeans, wear either white sneakers or black high-top sneakers and wear an open jacket over my black t-shirt. Either a bomber jacket or a leather jacket, I wear necklaces and bracelets with it, so it’s more of a rocking outfit.

Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

Basically, you listen to my songs and you can write my life story. Topics like the different stages of a relationship like being freshly in love or just living next to each other, how it was when I was disappointed by love several times, how childish arguments can be after a relationship, how strong the bond is between my daughter and me as well as all the ups and downs I process in my songs.

Beside music, do you have any special talents?

I have been attached to music all my life and I absolutely love it! What else I’m particularly good at: Following through with things I set out to do. Many people only talk, I am a doer. I started my own business years ago and now run my own company in the health sector.

7. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

– I have a really big smile on stage.

– I always carry my 2 litres of filtered water in a striking blue bottle.

– No one is allowed to not move at a concert.

– I like to tell funny stories about how I lost my fingers on my right hand (even though I was born that way)

– As a toddler I stuttered, which I overcame by singing.

How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??

I stuttered as a child, except when singing children’s songs. That’s why my mother wanted me to sing everything I wanted to tell her. So I was singing all day. Later at school, a classmate invited me to my first band rehearsal. Besides my knowledge from the 12 years of trumpet lessons at music school, it was all learning by doing. I taught myself all the other instruments. Writing also came with time, I met a lot of great people who I get together with regularly.

A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

Which person who is no longer alive these days would you like to meet?

Chester Bennington. The lead singer of Linkin Park sadly passed away way too soon. I’m still a big fan of the band today, I grew up with them and would love to arrange a songwriting session with them one day.

Nicola Tesla. I would love to ask him so many questions about his inventions and ideas. I’m absolutely amazed at the knowledge and methods he came up with that are still so useful to us today.
