Samuel Oscar – ‘Wish You Were Here’ + Exclusive Interview

Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to zip on while they listen to your new music?

I would suggest a Moscow Mule to enjoy in this warm weather. Fits the vibe for a lot of my music.

Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

I have no tour dates as of yet, hopefully some will be organised soon. I am planning to release another single in the next month! I’m experimenting with a whole new genre, so stay tuned.

We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)

The conspiracy theory that has always blown me away was the idea that we are living in a parallel universe, like the film ‘Sliding doors’. Personally I think the idea of that is mind blowing.

What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

Hmmm that’s an interesting question, if I’m imagining the context that my music fits and if I were to describe a fashion style, I would say loungewear? As a lot of my music fits with a relaxed vibe. Although this may change as I experiment with my music more and more.

Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

A lot of my inspiration for my music comes from my experience in life and the experience of others. For example ‘Leave you’ was inspired by my friend’s previous domestically abusive relationship, she features singing in the song with me. Whilst some of my other songs refer to my friendships, and relationship with others.

Beside music, do you have any special talents?

I do!! I was brought up with parents that were both chefs, they taught me how to cook. I enjoy hosting meals fro friends, usually a roast dinner, Thai food or Icelandic traditional meals.

Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

I enjoy experimenting with my music and trying new things.

All of my music videos have been self-filmed or filmed by my partner.

I do not just write sad songs (I promise)

I love Frank Ocean

I also create the cover artworks myself

How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??

It started with Guitar lessons at age 15. However, the rest was more or less self taught, the usual singing in the shower until you get better type thing.

A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

Any artist I would love to collab with, Frank Ocean, John Mayer and Ed Sheeran.
