Raylee Forest – „Mask“ – Exclusive Interview

1. Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to zip on while they listen to your new music?

Thank you for having me! While listening to my new single “Mask,” I recommend sipping on a glass of red wine. It’ll infuse a sense of mystery and excitement, amplifying your time travel back to the 18th-century ballroom through the music.

2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

I’m thrilled to share that my latest single „Mask“ has just been released – my favorite one so far! It has a touch of classical sound, and we applied some really cool time signature changes throughout the song. As for tour dates and new album, stay tuned, I’ll be announcing them soon!

3. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example, Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)

Oh, that’s a fun question! And too many to pick from – The Lost City of Atlantis, The “Nessie”, Area 51 … I wish they were all true! Life would be so cool with all these crazy possibilities, just like living in a fiction book or a sci-fi movie.

4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

My music is like dark fairy tales, so I’d say it resonates best with the meticulously designs and theatrical runway styles of Alexander McQueen, who himself once described life as a bit of a Brothers Grimm fairytale.

5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

My recent songs revolve around themes of identity, self-discovery, and breaking free from societal expectations. For example, „Puppetry“ talks about people being manipulated by unspoken rules in society, while „Mask“ advocates that we will embrace our true selves if we know how to play by the rules, ironically.

6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?

I’ve got this talent for imitating paintings, and I can do it pretty well! But when it comes to creating my own masterpieces on canvas, I feel like I’m just stuck. It’s like my artistic inspiration has gone on vacation.

7. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

I draw inspiration from all kinds of sources, especially from dark fantasies.

I love writing stories through my lyrics with unexpected twists.

I enjoy experimenting with unique sounds in my music

I sometimes record motifs I dreamt about on my phone

I love lyric writing more than music composing

8. How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??

I started playing piano and singing when I was very little. But it wasn’t until about a year ago that I took the plunge into songwriting, but once I started, it felt like second nature to me. Writing songs has become a daily thing for me now. I gotta say, all those years of playing music have paid off. It’s like my skills have been honed to perfection over the years.

9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

Here’s a question I’ve never been asked before: If you could choose any super power, what would it be?

Answer: I would love the power to teleport instantly to any place in the world! It would make touring and connecting with fans so much easier!
