Powerful high-end indoor trainer: the Garmin Tacx NEO 3M

With the Tacx NEO 3M, Garmin presents a new indoor trainer that takes training to the next level. The integrated motion plates enable a more comfortable and realistic driving experience. The heart of the Tacx NEO 3M is the braking unit with NEO technology, consisting of a magnetic motor brake with 32 neodymium magnets and a virtual flywheel, which simulates various surfaces as well as inclines and descents. A major advantage of the brake unit is that it does not require a belt, thus eliminating a source of noise and a critical wearing part. The engine brake also works similarly to a dynamo and generates electricity while driving. For Road Feel, the neodymium magnets of the brake unit are individually controlled while driving to simulate surfaces such as cobblestones or gravel. In combination with the Tacx Training app, training plans can be synchronized in the Garmin Connect calendar, you can take part in virtual group rides or training rides with WorldTour professionals and experience the most beautiful routes and places around the world.

Next level indoor training: fascinatingly realistic and performance-oriented

In addition to the NEO technology, the multi-directional movement is responsible for the fascinatingly realistic driving experience. The integrated motion plates allow fore and aft movement, providing a feeling like riding outside. Thanks to the new frame design, the trainer’s lateral mobility has also been improved, which particularly improves riding while standing. The static sitting position on conventional indoor trainers can also often lead to sitting or back problems. The more variable sitting position thanks to the multidirectional movements can prevent such problems. By individually controlling the individual magnets, various surfaces such as cobblestones and gravel as well as gradients of up to 25% can be simulated using the virtual flywheel. Dynamic Inertia dynamically adjusts the mass inertia depending on the weight of the driver, the speed and the gradient. The measurement accuracy of < 1% has been further improved in the NEO 3M compared to the NEO 2T and is now available over a larger performance range. With a maximum output of 2,200 watts, the indoor trainer is ready for any indoor experience.

The full potential with the Tacx Training app

In the Tacx Training app you can create training plans, access high-quality training videos from around the world or take part in training rides with WorldTour professional teams. You can also get in touch with friends around the world via GroupRides and train together. All of this is possible with the Tacx Training app, which includes a free, three-month premium subscription when you purchase a NEO 3M. In addition to the Tacx Training app, the trainer can be connected to other popular apps such as TrainerRoad or Zwift, where activities can be recorded and all data can be uploaded to the Garmin Connect app.

Design and workmanship at the highest level

The revised design of the indoor trainer offers secure footing even during intensive training and the integrated carrying handle helps when storing the trainer after the indoor session. The stop bushings for holding the bicycle frame have also been revised to make it easier to mount bicycles with a thru-axle or quick release. The integrated LED provides visual information about the performance that is currently being performed.

The Tacx NEO 3M is ready to ride straight out of the box and has a pre-installed SHIMANO and SRAM compatible 11-speed cassette, a seamless onboarding process via the Tacx Training app and does not need to be calibrated. For anyone who wants a more stable transmission to the training software, for example in virtual races, there is an optional smart network adapter.
