Pink Panda – ‚Obsessed‘ + Exclusive Interview

Hello, thank you for your time, please introduce yourself in a few words!

Hey hey, thanks for interviewing us, it’s a real pleasure to chat! We’re an Extravagantly Colourful DJ/Producer collective from the UK. We like to focus on having fun and expressing ourselves creatively in the purest form we know, through music and positivity.

Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

Our new record “Obsessed“ !! It can fit any set and is spreading through the world right now!! Especially our fans on Triller & TikTok go totally mental on it which is a lot of fun to watch.

Further, 2022 is looking very exciting!!! To start it all off we’ll be playing 3 different NYE gigs in different parts of the world. And since Pink Panda was established in 2012, we will also be celebrating our 10-year anniversary in February which we’re really looking forward to. We’re planning some massive Wild Thingz parties in 2022 where we will perform with some of our favourite artists, dancers, and a lot more craziness that people will just have to come experience and enjoy with us. So, keep a close eye on our upcoming events as we’ll start announcing dates shortly.

Next to that we have some great Music Releases lined up all the way into the second part of next year already which will be released on Perfect Havoc, Spinnin’ Records and SONY Music, Live Events in new and exciting territories like North & South America and some secret special digital projects too!! All will be announced very soon 🙏

Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

We love working together with talent from all walks of life and try to compose from the underlying origins of everyone we work with to maintain diverse and evolve as producers release by release.

We’re turning 10 years old next year and we have big anniversary plans.

Being Pink Panda is a deliberate choice and we advocate for inclusivity on a global scale.

The aim is to launch a global PINK PANDA academy to help develop talented producers & DJs from all backgrounds, race & gender.

We love what we do, we live for this and we’re very grateful for our PFAM all over the world.

4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

ATM, we feel Balenciaga suits us best. The brand shares some of the same identity trades with us; taking risks, having fun, being extravagant, colourful and fighting for your belief system. Balenciaga’s recent pushes in „cause-centric fashion“, driven by creative director Demna Gvasalia, is something we take inspiration from and embrace as artists. We hope to once be able to raise an interest to our brand on a scale that Balenciaga has managed to do and still advocate our core values to have a positive impact in the world whilst adding creative value to it.

Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

The general message in our song catalogue concentrates on love & positivity! Last year we released “People (Get Together)” that’s about unifying people and letting go of assumed differences. We believe in global thinking, being on one level and being together. Love and positivity are important to us in our music. But we’re not afraid to address the demons we can all have from time to time as we did in our track Nightmares (which was on the longlist for a Grammy nomination this year btw, but unfortunately didn’t make the final selection).

And finally, we also want to allow people to have fun with our tracks, like our newest record “Obsessed” that is out now everywhere. It’s something where everybody can have fun with in their bedroom or on the dancefloor and that is a little less heavy. Any reaction that makes people feel good (or better) is important to us in our music!

Beside music, do you have any special talents?

We can do Kung-Fu obviously, as any respectable Panda should be able to..;-).

Being on stage feels like….!

For us it feels like the best thing in the world. In front of a crowd, we feel most at home and most happy. Playing the music that we love, hyping the crowd, making people feel good and putting on a show. When we put on the mask, we turn into House Music Superhero characters. It’s our job to give you guys the best experience you ever had!

How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??

It’s mainly self-thought. Electronic and House music from an early age.

We all got into DJ’ing years ago, just through the love of it. Seeing the DJ and wanting to give that experience to people. Buying a small studio set-up and making beats, watching tutorials, trying new things, and putting the time in. We’ve been working very hard, spent a lot of hours and days in the studio. Starting off at small residencies and local clubs we’re we played different styles of music. We always had loads of music, played a few records, and tested the crowd what they’re into.

We learned how the crowd responsed to everything.

A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer please:
