The Houston Rockets new City Edition uniform is part of the 2021-22 Nike NBA City Edition Moments Mixtape theme. In celebration of the NBA’s 75th Anniversary, this on-court collection was designed to showcase the iconic moments of each franchise.
Behind The Design:
This City Edition uniforms brings together different details from past Rockets uniforms worn throughout important eras, such as elements of the championships seasons, Yao Ming being drafted, the 22-game win streak and the strong 2017-2018 season. The uniform reminds Rockets fans of the rich history of the franchise while pushing the team into the future.
The Los Angeles Lakers new City Edition uniform is part of the 2021-22 Nike NBA City Edition Moments Mixtape theme. In celebration of the NBA’s 75th Anniversary, this on-court collection was designed to showcase the iconic moments of each franchise. These uniforms are intended to be “windows into a city’s culture.” This year’s City Edition uniform is a culmination of the Lakers’ essence. The details span from the Lakers’ origin up to their present-day team. There are nods to the teams in each era that have amounted to 17 NBA Championships.
The Memphis Grizzlies new City Edition uniform is part of the 2021-22 Nike NBA City Edition Moments Mixtape theme. In celebration of the NBA’s 75th Anniversary, this on-court collection was designed to showcase the iconic moments of each franchise. This uniform highlights many of the features of previous iterations in team uniform history, backed by a Midnight Blue base color.
Behind The Design:
- Arched “Memphis” jersey wordmark, used from 2004-18, with added bear claw accents from inaugural year in Vancouver
- The waistband logo of the claw ball harkens back to the original design from Vancouver and early Memphis years, updated with current blue colorway
- The bear logo on the left side of the shorts, originally from 2002, updated with current blue colorway
- The stylized MEM mark from 2018 is patterned throughout the neck, arms and shorts in an asymmetrical design, similar to both the original Vancouver uniforms in 1995-96 and the current Statement Edition uniforms

The San Antonio Spurs new City Edition uniform is part of the 2021-22 Nike NBA City Edition Moments Mixtape theme. In celebration of the NBA’s 75th Anniversary, this on-court collection was designed to showcase the iconic moments of each franchise. This uniform pays homage to unique moments in Spurs history, such as the team’s ABA roots with the Dallas Chaparrals, 1970’s Era Road Uniform, 1990’s Fiesta Colors and recent historic runs.

- Chaparrals logo represented in one of the short diamonds in its ABA form
- ABA logo inside short vent representing team’s ties pre-NBA merger
- Diamonds on both sides of shorts pulled from 1977-1981 Road Uniform
- Fiesta Colors present throughout uniform and appear in iconic Spurs uniform stripes along sides and waistband
- Spurs classic Silver & Black stripes appear above jocktag
The New York Knicks new City Edition uniform is part of the 2021-22 Nike NBA City Edition Moments Mixtape theme. The New York Knicks City Edition follows a “mixtape” concept inspired by the biggest Knicks moments over the last 75 years, many happening at the World’s Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden. Designed by Kith founder Ronnie Fieg, the jersey features a black base, blue and orange piping, checkered side panels, and the Nike NYC logo. The shorts carry retired Knicks numbers along the waistband, as well as the Global Logo on the buckle. A visual representation of Madison Square Garden adorns each leg, a homage to basketball’s greatest stage.
The Miami Heat new City Edition uniform is part of the 2021-22 Nike NBA City Edition Moments Mixtape theme. In celebration of the NBA’s 75th Anniversary, this on-court collection was designed to showcase the iconic moments of each franchise. This uniform melds the various fonts and numerals from 8 of the franchise’s most iconic team looks to create a vibrant, wearable tribute to its 34-year visual history.
Behind The Design:
- A black base color provides a neutral foundation for its mashup-style “MIAMI” wordmark, which features assorted letter forms pulled from popular HEAT uniform sets, including Miami Floridians, Hardwood Classics, and VICE Nights, among others.
- Below the wordmark appears the jersey’s front number, which can vary from player to player—the team was given the chance to select their own numeral style(s).
- That same mishmash aesthetic extends to the uniform’s shorts, which feature a mashup-style “HEAT” wordmark on the lower right leg, as well as a multicolored version of the team’s classic “ball and flame” logo on the lower left leg.
- The uniform also weaves in several references to the HEAT’s Championship-winning history. On the jersey’s “anthem” spot (located just above the jock tag) appears the “15 STRONG” wordmark: a rallying cry throughout the team’s 2006 Championship run. Just below that is a list of the three years in which the HEAT have won a Championship, each stacked vertically on the shorts’ waistband. Rounding out the uniform is a thin golden stripe that frames the ensemble of elements—a nod to the infamous yellow ropes brought out seconds before “The Shot” during the 2013 Finals.
The Washington Wizards new City Edition uniform is part of the 2021-22 Nike NBA City Edition Moments Mixtape theme. In celebration of the NBA’s 75th Anniversary, this on-court collection was designed to showcase the iconic moments of each franchise.
Behind The Design:
- 1960s-1970s: The red stripes atop the blue base resembles the decades-old Bullets uniforms
- Late 1960s: Below a red belt, the shorts feature a wide red panel on each side
- 2000: Blue base and Jersey number font – blue and gold color scheme
- Gold makes its return to the Wizard’s uniform set, trimming the edges of the jersey numbers
- 2016-17: The “Washington” wordmark across the jersey’s chest is a remixed take on the look that highlighted the team’s memorable “Stars & Stripes” run
- On the left short leg, a brand-new DMV logo in gold, white and blue acknowledges the franchise’s history across the entire D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region for the first time
- On the right short leg sits the “D.C. Hands” logo in a retro italic font

The Philadelphia 76ers new City Edition uniform is part of the 2021-22 Nike NBA City Edition Moments Mixtape theme. In celebration of the NBA’s 75th Anniversary, this on-court collection was designed to showcase the iconic moments of each franchise. This uniform celebrates the NBA’s 75th Anniversary and the franchise’s storied history by honoring the beloved home from 1967-1996, the Philadelphia Spectrum.
Behind The Design:
- The front of the jersey features a variation of the art-deco style “Sixers” wordmark that the team wore in the mid-1970s in bold red with crisp white outline.
- The Spectrum color panels run down both sides of the uniform and nod to Philadelphia’s sports fans.
- A custom Spectrum badge logo is adorned on the side of the short to pay homage to “America’s Showplace” the arena that housed so many great memories for the teams and fans through the era.
- The iconic Spectrum “S” is anchored on the belt and “Brotherly Love” wordmark sits above the jersey jocktag.
- The numerals are derived from the 1976-77 uniforms and the overall Navy Blue base color is a fresh and prestigious look for the team that honors their legacy.
