1. Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to zip on while they listen to your new music?
A delicious frozen strawberry margarita, for sure
2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!
My new single Palm Springs is out now! It’s my queer Margaritaville and I’ve been wanting to release it for a long time. It’s breezy and playful, but also seriously sexy and exploratory.
3. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)
I kinda love the Birds Aren’t Real conspiracy theory because sometimes it does feel like we’re always being watched. I’d much rather be spied on by cute birds than our devices (that are already literally tracking our eye contact and habits these days!)
4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
Quirky wholesome maximalism
5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?
My songs are my expression for my journey as a queer person with mental health struggles. My new single, Palm Springs, was written for the Bi+ community (bi, pan, queer, etc.). More than half of the LGBTQ+ community identify as Bi+ these days, and I think it’s so important to accept folks who aren’t „fully“ straight or gay. Labels should be about empowerment and visibility, not confinement. My song celebrates the spectrum and fluidity of attraction.
6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?
I can make a mean hot cocoa
7. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!
I never regret a lyric, even if I don’t feel that way about them now. I play the baritone ukulele. I’m always giving out hugs at the merch booth. I think everyone has the potential to be an artist if they’re willing to make space for themselves. And I love my dog.
8. The road so far…. who or what was your biggest support??
Honestly, the kindness of strangers on the internet has kept me going from the start until now. There is SO much negativity out there and I’m constantly inundated with hateful anti-lgbtq+ comments, so when someone takes the time to send a thoughtful message about how my music has impacted them in a positive way, it truly means the WORLD to me.
9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls
If you weren’t doing this, what would you be doing instead?
I’d be in a cabin in the woods writing a novel
