Louisa Laos – „Toxic“ + Exclusive Interview

Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to zip on while they listen to your new music?

I recommend drinking a Moscow Mule – its fresh and a little bit spicy, just like my music.

Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

I just released my new single “Toxic” in combination with a music video. It’s the first single off my debut EP “Intro” which will be released on the 26th of May. Furthermore, I’m currently shooting a new Music Video for the third single.

My focus after the EP release is to perform at a lot of events, as well as to keep writing more songs.

We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)

That is a very interesting question! I think that I am quite the logical thinker, so I don’t really believe in conspiracy theories. However, I do wish that mermaids were real, or wizards would exist.

What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

I think my music is quite laid back but also makes you want to feel like a baddie, so probably a mix out of an oversized jacket, with some denim jeans or skirt underneath and then a sexy crop-top.

Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

My new EP is about finding myself and my own voice. In my song “Home” I talk about how I have always been looking for my place in the world. Since I’ve moved around, a lot in my life, it felt like I always had to say goodbye as soon as I felt comfortable in my surroundings. In “For What” I talk about finding happiness in yourself instead of chasing it. “Toxic” Is a fun rnb-pop-song in which I reflect on my own behaviours in a relationship, realizing that I might be the toxic one. In “Nothing at all” I talk about a situation in my previous relationship, where I had to give my partner an ultimatum, saying “its me or nothing at all”. In “what friends do” I question different relationships with certain friends, that have let me down. Lastly, I wrote “Atlantis” during lockdown in 2020, when the pandemic hit. It basically captures the emotions I felt at the time: feeling lost, hopeless, alone and not knowing where my head is at.

These lyrics come from the Heart. I draw inspiration from personal experiences and from my own thoughts.

Beside music, do you have any special talents?

I would say ive always loved to act, edit videos and paint. It doesn’t mean that I’m super good at it but being creative has always been one of my strengths.

Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

I write all of my own songs, I work closely together with my producers, I love writing songs for projects or other artists because then I can get more creative with songwriting, The first real complete song that I wrote was for my mother and it was called “hero”, I’m always trying out new things/styles with my music

How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??

I have been singing since i could speak, but what really inspired to sing more was High School Musical. Ever since I watched it the first time, constantly wanted to stand on stage and sing or act. I learned how to play the piano at the international school in Cambodia when I was around 4 years old. Furthermore Taylor Swift inspired me to write my own songs on the Piano when I was 12.

A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

What’s the food you usually refuse to share?

It would either be salty chips, pho, McDonalds chicken nuggets or summer rolls. Pretty much almost every food
