liquidfive – „Drown“ + Exclusive Interview

Hello, thank you for your time, please introduce yourself in a few words!

I’m Martin Maximilian Kotzur aka liquidfive. In 2011 I started a band project called liquidfive. After a number of releases, I realized that my heart was only in dance/pop music and I did it alone as a DJ/producer/songwriter. I have released in the last 4 years 35 songs and I still have some plans for the future.

Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

As you have probably already noticed, I release a new song every 5 to 8 weeks. Drown is currently my ninth song in 2021. There will probably be the next song in December of this year, but at the latest at the beginning of January 2022. Since I made a video for every song in the past, there will also be    one for the next song. For next year there are some festivals in the program such as Sonne Mond & Sterne in Germany and others, but because of the corona situation everything is very insecure. Let’s see what can take place in 2022.

Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

This is a very difficult question. I think that people should know that I love music above all else, I am an absolute football fan, I do sports almost every day, I love to travel and healthy nutrition is very important to me. What I still have to say is that I like to listen to radio plays in my breaks.

What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

I think this is a modern sporty but also elegant style like Adidas or Nike describes my music.

Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

My music is very modern and danceable, it´s just dance pop music. I believe that I can only be successful with my own style and try to transport it into my songs.

I try to make every song sound like liquidfive in the end and try not to copy the competition.

Beside music, do you have any special talents?

Yes, I used to be a very good football player who played very high, but that was a very long time ago.

Being on stage feels like….!

Being on stage is something wonderful, especially when you can play your own music and experience the reactions up close.

How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??

I started as a drummer and created the basis for making music. As a drummer you learn beats, and music consists of beats. I quickly bought my first DAW software and started writing and producing songs. Unfortunately I’m not a good singer and haven’t sung any of my songs yet. Today, I work in a team and everyone focuses on their strengths so that the best result comes out in the end. I bought a couple of Pioneer players and practiced at home until I was good enough to be a DJ.

A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

I’ve never been asked where my roots are from. My family comes from Oberschlesein Poland, which was German territory before World War II. The funny thing is that I also speak Polish and want to visit my homeland again and again, but have only made it once in the last 25 years. It’s time to travel to Poland again, and I probably combine that with a gig.
