LEWIS KNAGGS – “Y.O.U.” + Exclusive Interview

1. Hello, thank you for your time, please introduce yourself in a few words!
Thanks for having me. My name is Lewis Knaggs, I’m a musician from London.
2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!
My new single is called Y.O.U. Currently working on my debut album. About to announce a few shows starting in London, watch this space. The video for Y.O.U just dropped too so go check that out.

3. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!
  • I write all my song myself
  • I am a massive Bruce Springsteen fan
  • The songs usually start with a melody, which I fill in with lyrics
  • I make music video’s for my own songs, but also for many other artists
  • I am born and raised in London so the city naturally inspires me in all creative aspects.

4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

Brand wise I would say Dr Martens. I love thrift shopping and have lots of vintage clothes. Brick Lane is a great place for that!

5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

I get inspired by things that happen in my own life and the lives of people close to me. I usually write from my own perspective and experiences…but try to intwine them sometimes with those I love and know well. Trying to write from their point of view helps to broaden the mind and lyrics beyond my own life.

6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?

I make films but also like to be active. As I am half American, my Californian roots made me drawn to surfing and skateboarding.

7. Being on stage feels like….!

Best feeling there is, it’s lovely plugging into a loud PA and blasting my songs out to people who are there to listen. Trying to win an audience over is also a great feeling.

8. How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??

My parents have always been really supportive of my music creations…I started off with piano lessons when I was a kid. Then I moved onto guitar lessons. My dad taught me the first things I ever learn, night train by James brown was one of them…My dad then used to take me every Sunday to guitar lessons with a wonderful dude called Nick who I learnt loads from. I’d then come home after the lessons and Jam out new songs with my dad.

9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

How do you like your coffee? Black with a splash of oat milk please, thanks
