1. Hello, thank you for your time, please introduce yourself in a few words!
My name is Koflows. I am a 23 year old independent South Korean recording artists from Brooklyn NYC that has a versatile universal sound.
2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!
My new record “Reason” is spinning on over 5+ stations around the US, including Eminem’s Shade 45 & New York Power 105.1. The music video just dropped as well & I have so much more on the way – its just the beginning!
3. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!
I freestyle for real & create almost all of my music off the top in the moment. I was born in Korea but raised out in NYC. Since an early age I had to prove to my city that I was really meant for this & would perform all over whenever I could. I am a perfectionist in creating music and performed my first festival at 19, opening up for Jhene Aiko in Hawaii.
4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
I’d compare my music to the YZY brand because it will always be distinct & continues to develop into new unimaginable inspirations for all.
5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?
My songs are just songs about my life. My message is to free yourself from this world that can keep us behind the lines of our greatness. You can hear the growth in all my music & I want to show people they could pursue something that seems impossible to see themselves.
6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?
Besides music I am very skilled at cooking & networking with the right people. Crafts I eventually had to pick up and develop heavily on this journey.
7. Being on stage feels like….!
Being on stage feels like the most nerve wrecking and confidence boosting thing at the same time. The more preparation & belief I have in my music the better the performance is. I feel like I’m on cloud 9 and I love to shock people with my music. You see me & wouldn’t know what I’m capable of & have under my belt at shows!
8. How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??
I learned to write poems/songs in the 2nd grade and I liked it. One of my songs got chosen by this band at the time & produced it into my own song. I remember getting paid 40$ and feeling so rich off the music, but it never came back around until I developed my passion deeply into hip hop, rap & music in general. I would travel to every party in the city to make myself known & rap in cyphers.
9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls
A question I’ve never been asked that i’d like to answer is:
“How hard is this all?”
I would have to say “extremely”. This a industry full of low lives & opportunists. However there is no doubt you will reach all the right people if you stay true & pure for your passion. Don’t let these people out here try to degrade your worth and confuse you. Do things for people out of real love & not greed – you will see how far this can be taken.
