1. Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to zip on while they listen to your new music?
I’ve been drinking this a lot – Soda water with lime and mint. It’s so easy and refreshing so I definitely recommend that. It’s like a virgin mojito. Tastes so good.
2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!
My new song and music video ‘Paradise’ is out now and streamable everywhere! As for new music, I have a huge amount of songs I’ve written and was lucky enough to perform them at my debut launch show at The Great Club, Marrickville, on April 13. There’s a couple songs in the works, and we’re recording some new singles to share with you soon.
3. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)
I saw this crazy conspiracy theory that everyone in Australia was a paid actor, and that Australia isn’t real, it’s just there to trick Americans. It’s such a far-fetched theory but how funny and great would it be to get paid for no reason but to pretend to live here.
4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?
At the moment I’m currently obsessed with puffer jackets/vests. I’d say if I (and by extension my music) were to be a fashion style, it’d be a puffer vest. Aside from the fact that I wear them with literally everything, I think it describes my music because I think a puffer vest matches a lot of other clothes, and likewise I hope my songwriting and music touches upon or reaches other genres or styles of music as well.
5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?
I write a lot of songs about my life and relationships. As a teenager, I guess a lot of my songs revolve around figuring out relationships with others and with myself. I’d say that the most common theme about most of the songs I write.
6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?
I’d like to think I’m a decent film-maker. A special talent of mine is that I’m a pretty good video editor. I am studying Film at university and studied it at high school and picked up film video editing really quick. You can see some of my editing skills on the music video for Paradise that I edited together.
7. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!
-
I’ve been writing all my own songs since I was 16.
-
Most of my music starts off as acoustic songs when I write them and eventually turn into bigger production/band songs.
-
I can play guitar, piano and violin!
-
I’m really inspired by rock music and occasionally at live shows I make some songs sound different or more rock inspired.
-
When I write music I often imagine what it looks like visually, so there’s always some correlation to the way the song sounds and how it looks visually.
8. How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??
I grew up in a pretty musical family, my mum is a singer and my uncle was a guitarist, so I learnt from my family how to play music. Song writing I learnt from reading books and studying some of my favorite songs and how they’re structured or formulated.
9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls
What’s an instrument you can’t play but wish you could?
The drums. Every time I try to play I’m painfully reminded how uncoordinated I am, but I will still try nonetheless!
