Kae Kuzi – ‚Local Tyrant‘ + Exclusive Interview

1. Hello, thank you for your time, please introduce yourself in a few words!
Chill, Optimistic and Damn straight Determined.

2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

So after the release of Local Tyrant I want to drop a couple more singles with the same producer than later on in the year, drop an EP. Also some Crazy Visuals to match the style of my music. Very excited indeed.

3. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

When recording a music video I always take inspiration from Skepta, slowthai, Dababy or Eminem with the way they’re not afraid to embody the craziness of their songs sometimes. So expect some unusual scenes in my music videos.
I like to be visual with my music, Whenever I actually take time to write something up. I think that’s what makes some of my verses so relatable.
Listening to Kish fantastic actually made me realise I needed to switch my style to a more UK sound. I actually used to be a full time boombap rapper with the fake American accent and all, but couldn’t pull off a Lord Apex unfortunately.
Don’t expect the same sound. I love to experiment with my style as you can hear on my YouTube, where each song is different from each other. I might just drop the smoothest sound and the next day you’d hear me on violence.
I want to do more live performances for you guys, something like Evergreen live if they’ll ever come back, colors or tiny desk. I’d love for you guys to experience my sound.

4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

Well, I’m quite into by.slik. A pretty low-key brand with much potential and many possibilities with their denim jeans collection. They’re independent, unique and incorporate a style
Of fashion which not many trends to go for. Something like me pursuing this chill uk rap sound.

5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

So Still on Track was actually a 3 part saga, composed of Still on track, Still on track 2.0 and Notice. The message of the saga was staying loose, being unbounded, knowing one’s self and moving forward with whatever criticism or controversy comes your way. Local Tyrant had a similar message I believe. The next tracks will reveal a more confident, motivated and adaptable Kuzi. One message you’ll see me pushing is Skill > Talent. This time last year I had 66 monthly listeners and now I look at my stats they don’t compare, that’s just the result of my own belief and hard work anyone can easily do the same. The sky’s the limit.

6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?

Let’s see from the top of my head:
I’m actually very athletic,
Pretty good at dancing,
Pretty good actor too.
Pretty good at spoken word too

7. Being on stage feels like….!
A high intense workout. Although a Very energetic feeling, it can be tiresome.
8. How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??
Just listened to my favourite artists and studied the way they compose sounds together. I learned breathing techniques as well as some interesting flows.

9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

Do you have any studio stories? If so, could you share a few?

So many events can transpire in a recording studio. Many of these are so random.
