Joya Marleen – „Tired of Waiting“ + Exclusive Interview

Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to zip on while they listen to your new music?

A margarita with a dash of ginger. Or a peppermint tea:)

Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

I’m on tour with my band right now. We have it really good actually. Soon my new EP will be released, which means a lot to me. I’m really excited to see how people react to it. I’m able to perform and create music. That has always been a dream of mine. Life is very cool right now 🙂

We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)

Definitely fairies or witches dancing around a fire in the mountains, making nature magical. I wish i was one of them.

What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

I have to be honest and say that I don’t really know much about brands, but I would find a solid colorful thrift store very cool. Or something a bit edgy and playful.

Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

I love to live in movie moments and savor them in my songs. Everything that seems kitschy or magical somehow makes banal everyday situations more beautiful. This longing i try to describe in my lyrics

Beside music, do you have any special talents?

I can wiggle my ears and I love to dance. I used to dance a lot, from ballet to hip hop. Today, unfortunately, not so much. Sometimes in musicvideos:)

Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

– I live for movie moments in life

– I dream too much

– My guitar is almost always with me

– I like to write songs 🙂

– I got cool sunglasses

How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??

There was always music playing somewhere in our house. It was always a bit chaotic. There were lots of instruments lying around that my brother and I would pick up at some point and start strumming around. We never had to learn to „read music“ or anything. We just had fun making noise. Then I started writing songs.

A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

Ääähm. Good question. What is your go- to roadtrip song with my band? It‘s Words by F.R David.
