Hunter Blair Ambrose – „NEXT TO ME“ + Exclusive Interview

1. Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to sip on while they listen to your new music?

I would recommend any drink that makes you wanna hit the dancefloor while nostalgic and yearning for a person that has stolen your heart. And if you don’t drink alcohol, probably just anything that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.

2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

With “Next to Me” being my new single, I have a full length visualizer and  music video planned to promote the single. I also am planning on releasing a new full length project to follow up my first album, Scorpio Season, hopefully by the end of the year.

3. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)

That „Telephone part 2“ with Gaga and Beyonce is actually going to come someday.

4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

Fashion informs so much of what I do creatively. It is a huge component of my image and overall universe that I’ve created through my artistry. It motivates me to create new cutting edge visuals for every song that I do and allows me to fully embrace a new artistic “persona” for each era and its corresponding aesthetics.  For me, the house that encapsulates my energy and visual identity the most would probably be Saint Laurent. Their style is sleek, dark, elegant yet elevated with an edge of rock n’ roll and subversiveness to their looks. I’ve worn a lot of their designs in my recent visuals for this new era.

5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

“Next to Me” definitely shows a side to me that I don’t think any of my fans or listeners have heard before. I have always been a hopeless romantic inside, it was just hidden behind a lot of painful experiences with heartbreak that clouded that for a very long time. The song represents giving into your romantic side and to be open to just being completely vulnerable with someone. The lyrics are about just wanting to be entirely devoted to that one person that you truly feel yourself with.

Overall, my songs touch on deeply personal experiences often to do with love, sex, fears, heartbreak, feminism and sexual liberation. I continue to learn more about myself as an artist and woman everyday and I try not to shy away from the more raw and honest topics that you can hear in pop music.

6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?

Yes! I am a former professional makeup artist. I absolutely loved it and still do. A lot of the time, I am doing my own makeup for shoots, appearances and live shows to save time. I also am an actress and used to fill my summers in between semesters in college by appearing in various indie films and productions.

7. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

  1. I have an over 4 octave range.

  2. I would not be the person or artist I am today without Lady Gaga, I fully believe that woman changed my entire trajectory in life.

  3. My first songwriting credit was with Narada Michael Walden, musician and producer of Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and more.

  4. My favorite thing about being an artist is performing live. I become an entirely different human being when I’m on stage. It’s like a drug to me.

  5. I saw Britney Spears perform on tour during her prime in 2002 when I was little and that was the moment I decided I was going to become a singer/artist/performer.

8. How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??

I was just always constantly singing whatever pop songs that were popular and on the radio when I was a little girl. I was able to memorize and sing so many songs I heard so quickly and my parents just picked up on my inherent talent from a really young age. They put me in formal voice and piano lessons when I was about 6 years old and it just took off from there. I kept training from age 6 onwards and by the time I was in high school, I started writing pop songs and knew that I was really going to pursue it as my career.

9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls
