Your bachelor days may be only a short few years or a long decade or more, and there is no right or wrong length of time for this period in your life. No matter how long you are living your best bachelor life, you want your body to reflect it. If you want to preserve your bachelor body, both inside and out, there are a few seemingly simple, yet very effective, ways to stay healthy and look good for years or decades.

1. Sleep

Sleep may be one of the most underrated things you can do to keep and preserve your health. Getting enough sleep each night can have a significant impact on how you feel, how you perform in work or exercise and how you look. The amount of sleep each individual needs every night varies, but for most adults, it is between seven to eight hours.

You may think that you feel just fine when you only get five or six hours of sleep, but in reality, your body is suffering. When you get enough sleep you are able to reduce your stress, improve your mood, and take fewer sick days at work. You also decrease the likelihood that you will acquire diabetes or heart disease. Getting enough sleep can also help you maintain your weight. All of these things are fundamental ways to preserve your bachelor body, inside and out.

2. Nutrition

Everyone knows that eating a healthy diet is good and important for you, but not everyone knows the best way to maintain a consistently healthy diet. A healthy diet does not need to be too restrictive either, which is a common misconception. You can still enjoy alcohol, sweets and fried foods, so long as you balance that with healthier foods throughout your week. You can still go out to eat and enjoy nice meals, though you may consider only doing so one or two nights a week, not five or six. A nutritious diet contains a balance of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. This may include meals containing fruits and vegetables, nuts and oils, and lean meat like chicken or turkey. There are also leaner cuts of steak. Potatoes, rice and pasta are not off-limits either.

Along with eating nutritious foods, a healthy diet incorporates supplements too. These supplements may be used for a variety of health concerns, including your immune system and joints. If you are looking for supplements for joint pain, you may consider taking turmeric, fish oil or glucosamine. If you are looking for supplements for your immune system, vitamins and minerals like Vitamin D, Zinc, Vitamin C and Elderberry can help you stay healthy.

Taking supplements and following a nutritious diet can help you stay energized, healthy, and maintain or improve your fitness.

3. Exercise

There are numerous benefits of exercise, one of which being that it can help keep your body in tip-top shape.

Exercise can help you control your weight, improve your mental health and mood, and reduce your risk of getting diseases like heart disease and some types of cancer. Like sleep and nutrition, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to exercise. There are hundreds of exercise options that can be beneficial. Exercising regularly does not mean that you have to spend two hours each and every day working out hard; four to five days of light to moderate exercise each week can have significant benefits.

You can choose to walk, run, or bike outside or join a gym and use their exercise equipment there. You can also join a gym that runs classes, which many people find extremely beneficial for their fitness. A lot of people also exercise inside their home, using stationary bikes or treadmills, or just following simple exercise programs or videos that do not require a lot of equipment. Not only is there a clear aesthetic effect of working out, which can extend or improve your bachelor days, but there are also many internal positive effects of exercising consistently.

Getting enough sleep, keeping a nutritious diet and exercising regularly are all ways to improve your health and preserve your body for a long time.
