GaDDel – “What If We Break Up?” + Exclusive Interview

1. Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to sip on while they listen to your new music?

Hey guys! So happy for this interview, thank you! I’d say a Margarita or a glass of Rosè, Champagne or a good wine. I love wine so i would suggest to relax and sip it on while you listen to my music. Enjoy!

2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

My second official single from my upcoming album just came out and it’s called “What if we break up?”.

This song means everything to me and talks about relationships, in particular my troubled relationship with my mum. I wrote the song as an attempt to reconnect with her, to come back to that reality when we loved each other and to find balance and peace again. Im very scared to lose her and its my biggest fear; we love each other, but at the same time we both hate how we act. So, the title of the song says it all: What if we break up?

I’m working on my album with different producers and musicians. It’ll be all about tasting the unknown, it’ll be a journey into my mind and life. I’m releasing some singles from it and the first single I released last year is called “I Don’t Suffer Anymore”. I’ll be recording the final tracks between London and Los Angeles so it’ll be so much fun, can’t wait for you guys to hear it!!

I’ll definitely be touring around Europe next autumn/winter and rehearsals just started. Were creating an amazing live show, full of emotion, intimate moments and dancing, basically an emotional rollercoaster. Initially Ill be touring small venues to keep it more personal and intimate and London is a must-see for sure. I will announce dates and further details during summer.

Also, a new music video is on the way with the fourth single coming out this summer. We’re cooking up something special!!!

3. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)

Oh, dinos living inside Earth is a good one and I am completely in love with dinos, but I wish Area 51 and aliens was true cause I’m super fascinated by aliens and outer space in general. I think there’s some truth with what they say about finding pieces of a crashed alien spaceship and some alien bodies, because I think aliens as a potential form of life is the truth – but who knows? We don’t know a lot yet, or maybe we know too much and they can’t say anything because it’s favorable to governments and private companies, or it is too scary for wider society to handle.

Look at the stars, they’re so beautiful – and if you see an alien send me a picture so I can write a song about it!!!

4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

I’d say Casual would be a style that would best describe my music, something like oversized pants and hoodie, a cool hat, long hair and a pair of great sneakers. I also paint my nails so that would add up a lot of value to your style if you match it with your outfit. A perfect outfit for one of my live shows!

Brands that represents the culture of the music I make and I really love are Pleasures, Drew, PolarSkate and I’d say YDW.

I love cool brands, fresh styles and brands that aren’t clothes only oriented but that vehicle a message for a better world and take real action for it.

5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

Music is my life. I literally live for it.

I think my songs are unique. Every song out there has its own story.

My writing covers a wide range, from love, happiness, pain and suffering to depicting a specific situation, relationships, social issues, us as human beings, thoughts on who I am compared to this modern world. I write about my life, about me as a human being that’s growing so fast and understanding so many things all at once. I write about what it was, what’s now and what it’ll be.

I write about hope and spreading love.

All my songs have the same message in common: be who you really are and believe in yourself. There are no limits. Love unconditionally. Love is free and it frees our souls from suffering.

6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?

I love every kind of art in general and I’m good at drawing and painting. I write poems sometimes too.

I’m getting better and better at producing my own music too. I consider that a talent because it’s a completely different skill from writing songs, arranging them or singing.

I also love human psychology; it is so fascinating. Being a psychologist, a great one, would be something I would think about if I weren’t a singer-songwriter and an artist.

My biggest passion and “talent” besides music that stands out more is Wine. I love wine so much, everything about it. I’m studying to become a Sommelier. I find wine and the process of making it one of the most fascinating things on the planet.

7. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

5 things you all should know about me as an artist, alright:

  • I care about music more than any other thing in my life. I consider it my daughter, my muse, my everything. It’s a mutual and continuous exchange of love between us. Music is the cause of my happiness and sadness. It’s both a gift and a beautiful life sentence. I can’t escape from her and I’m happy not to do it.
  • When I’m in the studio, I get really anxious sometimes when working on a song cause I’m worried that my creativity one day could go away. I think about it many times and I balance that by writing lots of songs and breathing deeply or thinking about happy places. I also find that feeling like that is very common between artists.
  • When I’m playing live it’s like I’m hypnotized and the real world around me disappears. All the chaos, all the bad thoughts, all the noise in my head goes away and I feel completely free from my body. Kind of strange huh?
  • My family are my biggest fans. During my childhood they always encouraged me to pursue my dream, to follow what I feel inside, to be proud of who I am. I love my family and I write songs about my relationship with each of them as in “What if we break up?”, my latest single.
  • With my music, I want to have a huge impact on the world. A strongly positive one. That’s a constant thought in my head every day when I wake up. I’m working so hard to get there and I’ll get there soon. I’d like everyone to express their full potential, following what their hearts say and not being afraid of others’ judgement. This is a huge topic and we need to talk about it more. People need to be encouraged sometimes, just spread love and awareness.

8. How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??

I’ve been playing guitar since I was 5/6 years old. I can still remember the first day I went to my local music school for the first lesson.

My teacher was and is an artist himself. His name is Meme and he’s an amazing guitarist, he’s so good and he played for some great artists during the last years. He’s like my second father, he basically raised me though on a musical side.

I started by playing the classic guitar for about 1 year then I switched it up to the electric guitar and then with the acoustic while singing during live shows.

I started singing when I was 13 years old, I obviously used to sing here and there before but not as a constant and thoughtful thing on a day to day basis.

From there I started playing live shows as a guitarist and as a backing vocalist for a pop artist; eventually I did my first headline show and I released my first single. I can still remember that day, it was amazing!!!

9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

A question I’d like to answer that’s never been asked before is: Is it hard to carry the weight of being an artist and being considered as such?

I always feel it’s important to share how I feel deep inside as an artist, who I really am, if not through my music.

I think being hyper-sensitive as I am is kind of a mission. You feel good or bad for everything and everyone around you, you constantly change your mood so fast, you think things through a lot and always seek for an answer.

This is beautiful on one side cause it is what makes me write songs and sing them but on the other side, it is kind of hard to deal with constant overthinking every moment of your life and it stresses you out a lot; it consumes you if you don’t set boundaries or know yourself well enough.

I’m sure almost everybody can experience that but that’s an amplified factor for artists especially.

You have to be your biggest fan every second and you (and only you) have the power to make things happens. Nobody is going to put in the work for you. This is something I took a long time to understand cause of the culture I was born in and other factors in modern society.

That being said, I really love being an artist, a musician, a singer, I couldn’t do anything else and life without music would not make sense at all even though the price you have to pay is high and you have to be down for it. I am!
