French digital artist: "My name is A Naked Gaymer"

My name is A Naked Gaymer (A Nice Guy on Instagram). I’m a French digital artist who likes to draw the male body in all its diversity, always in a positive way, because we are all beautiful in our way (as the great philosopher Lady Gaga once said).

Let me tell you my story: After graduating in linguistics, I have been working as a freelance translator and teacher. Also been involved in NGO about LGBT+ rights. But never drew until the second lockdown in France during the COVID-19 pandemic.

I had an artist friend who asked me if I could send him some naked photos of me so he can use them to make some art. We were so bored during the lockdown, so I said “why not?”. He made a beautiful series of 10 sketches and I liked them so much, I created a “model” page on Instagram and posted them. It ignited the interest of other artists and through this, I had the opportunity to pose for several artists online!

I couldn’t believe that my body would become a piece of art, but I enjoyed it so much that I said, why not trying to draw as well?

So I made my first drawing in February 2021. Of course, the first drawing looked awful, but it was so much fun! So I kept drawing and drawing and the more I drew, the more I found my style.

What is the type of guy I like to draw? Everyone! I don’t care if you consider yourself too big, too small, too fat, too skinny, too something… if you want to pose, the only obstacle is yourself. Just believe in you, embrace your body (you just have one) and enjoy the moment.

My art is digital. I draw on an Ipad on Procreate. I have been inspired by many artists who draw colorful bodies in lovely way. I also like art to carry a message, like body positivity, inclusion or sometimes just I’m sexy and I love it.

Today, I have done more than 900 drawings and people can follow me on social media and also on Patreon where they can subscribe to support my art and commission their drawing.

I like to see my art as a safe space for me, where I can be myself and express my feelings and who I am. But also a safe space for everyone to celebrate your body without judgment or discrimination. Just be yourself and have fun!
