Fox Revett – „BREAKING POINT“ + Exclusive Interview

Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to zip on while they listen to your new music?

Oooh! I’m thinking my new song „Breaking Point“ needs something like an Aperol Spritz. Zesty, boozy, and a little sweet.

Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

I just released my first lead single, „Breaking Point.“ Following that, I have produced and written a number of songs being released around the globe by a few different artists. I’m super excited for this next chapter in my career, you will be sure to hear a lot of new music whether you know it’s by me – or not.

We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)

If Lea Michele truly cannot read, that has got to be one of the wildest pop culture conspiracies of the year. That one really got popular on TikTok and I have no idea where it started from, hahah.

What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

I’d say KidSuper. They make wearable art that is so colourful and loud, and that sounds a lot like me. They function as part art studio, part clothing brand – and that’s kind of like a metaphor for being a musician nowadays; part art, part brand.

Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

I am working on my debut mixtape, and the sound is left-of-centre pop. The central theme is about things reaching their boiling or breaking point, and how it got to be that bad. I am so excited for the next single, because it explores the breaking point that I reached during lockdown here in Canada. It was such an isolating time, and it has bred some very unique storytelling in my music.

Beside music, do you have any special talents?

I’m super sporty. I love going to the gym, going for runs, swimming, and yoga. When you spend your whole day making music, it’s important to be able to leave the studio and focus in on some self-care. It’s easy to become to obsessed with what you’re working on in the music studio, so I like to take my mind off of it and lift some weight.

Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

I write all my songs. I play piano. I can sing very high, but I cannot sing very low, hahaha. I’m always gonna give you a show. I love to collaborate with others.

How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??

It’s all I’ve ever known how to do. I grew up in choir, musicals, piano lessons, the usual music nerd stuff. I am self taught as a music producer, though. I picked up a laptop in middle school and started on garageband, and look at me now!

A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

What is my favourite album so far this year? Thank you so much for asking! My favourite album of the year is Giving The World Away by Hatchie. It’s a shoegaze record full of distorrted guitars, sugar sweet melodies, and breezy vocals. Give it a listen and let me know your favourite tracks!
