FABIAN SALLER – „Knocked Out For Good“ + Exclusive Interview

1. Hello, thank you for your time, please introduce yourself in a few words!

Hey, my name is Fabian, I’m 24 and I’m a musician. I studied psychology in Duesseldorf until the dream of creating and celebrating music pushed away all other plans.
I started making music at a young age, wrote songs when I was 10 or 12, but just recently started taking things seriously, with a beautiful team around me. “Knocked Out For Good“ is
the first single of my debut-EP “Turn Heads“, in which I combine soul and funk influences with my love for modern pop music.

2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates,
new videos?!

My next single “Avalanche“ will come out very soon, on July 16th. Alongside the single we produced a music video which is a lot more personal this time around. The story of the song is
based on true events, therefor we wanted to give the song a suiting video, which put me into lots of different challenges haha. The EP itself will be released in late August, hopefully followed by a tour through Germany, either as a support act or as our debut tour. Time and corona will tell, but until then we have lots of gigs planned, small festivals we will play at and so on. And we will definitely keep everyone updated through social media.

3. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

  1. I was influenced a lot by my father and his choice of music. Therefore a wild mixture of Coldplay, Keane and U2 meet soul, funk and jazz (which he later listened to) in my music.
  2. I am quite emotional, not in a way that it bothers me at all. But I often write about things that I can’t get out of my head or things that moved me in any way, not necessarily related to my life at all by the way.
  3. I have a strong (!) affinity for sushi, coffee and kebab.
  4. Although a musician and especially a guitarist myself, I could not care less about what guitar tech I own. I know its disturbing to many musicians, but I seriously don’t give a damn about gear haha, as long as everything flows and is easy to use, I’m happy.
  5. As dull as this might sound, but I’m taking this very seriously. My team and I are doing everything we can to write, produce and represent music that people enjoy, and if we were to make this happen in an even bigger way, that would be everything I could wish for.

4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

Thats pretty hard for me, because I don’t own many clothes I know the brand of haha. But I’d say beige dad jeans, white oversize tees, Nike dunks and a bit of jewelry (whatever this style is called) fit it pretty well. My friends call that basic college boy, I’d say the easiness of this outfit combined with a tiny bit of melancholy is what made my choice haha.

5. Do you have bad habits? A guilty pleasure you can’t seem to quit?

Of course, lots of. But the things I’m fighting with the most is probably regular fitness and getting out of bed. It’s not that I sleep long at all, I just can’t seem to immediately stand up after waking up, which I feel makes me dizzy for the next 3 hours and I hate that. Ah and I order food waaay too often.

6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?

I played tennis for all my life and was decent at it around 14-16. Despite that I think I’m quite good staying in good mental condition, making the most out of things and not worrying too much, if that’s a talent at all.

7. Being on stage feels like….!

absolute heaven! This is the thing driving me the most. I love being on stage, I love making music with my best friends and I absolute love seeing the reactions to songs that I put all my heart into.

8. Must Have – and No-Go in your Wardrobe! – Favorite Fashion Brand and
Fragrance?

Again, difficult, my sense of fashion is not too extreme. For some reason I don’t like purple, that’s probably a no-go. And the must have is a white oversize tee, no doubt. Beige jeans come pretty close though. I don’t have a favorite fragrance, I don’t even know many. But I use Boss bottled tonic at the moment and think it suits me.

9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview
before?! + Answer pls

Since this is my first Interview, there are no questions I’ve ever been asked despite the ones I just answered haha. Therefor I would love to just use this last question as a chance to say thank you!

To everyone who supports me right now, to everyone who even brought me here, thanks to Twisted Male Mag of course and greetings to the ones I love, my family, my friends and my team.
