EAU ROUGE – „Don’t Give In“ + Exclusive Interview

1. Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to zip on while they listen to your new music?

Don’t Give In is an angry track that has a classic, grunge-esque quiet/loud dynamic between verse and chorus, so how about a Dark’n’Stormy?

2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

Just at the end of 2021 we released our second album ‚Acid Love‘ which we’ve been working on for almost a year in Berlin.

‚Don’t Give In‘ is the first new track since then and we’re already working on some more new music.

After a long wait we’re finally able to play live again and are excited to be on tour through Germany in September!

3. Name 5 things we all should know about you as a band?!

1. We are a three piece band. What you get is what you see. That means we play everything live, no backing tracks no hidden piano Player behind the curtain 😉

2. We want to make you FEEL with our music. But it goes beyond that. We want to make Eau Rouge a wholistic experience for you. Thats why we put so much emphasize on our lighting in live Shows, the mood in our videos and our Merchandising. All artwork and merch from the new album is designed by ourselves!

3. Historians all around the globe argue about the origin of the name Eau Rouge. But the majority agrees over the fact that a belgian Grand Prix named a part of its race track that way in order to honour the well respected and beloved Formula one expert Jonas T. who is also founding member of a band with this exact name.

4. Making music is a dream but it also enables us to meet heroes that made us follow this dream and walk this path. We were lucky enough to see the Foo Fighters live and even meet Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins afterwards. We cherish this Moment in our hearts!

5. We phantasize about our dream venues to play in the future. Red Rocks in the US and the Royal Albert Hall in GB are amongst our favourites.

4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

I guess when you throw all Stranger Things Charakters in a pot you‘ll see a lot of Eau Rouge style in there. Pack your friends in a VW Bus and hit the Road through the dessert? We‘re in. Wanna Get your inner Eddie munson out and release some hellfire? Come to our live show and show your hair whipping and body shaking when Bo is kicking it with a solo on stage!

You wanna chill and take it easy for a minute like Argyle? You‘ll find a track for that on our new Album! And there‘s also a lot of Robin‘s excellent taste on that album 😉

5. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)

I remember how I really took into consideration if the city of Bielefeld really doesn’t exist. It was also rumored That where Bielefeld is supposed to be, there’s an underground military base in which JFK lives…because obviously he’s still alive. Then we played concerts in Bielefeld and it kind of grounded me haha. If all of those theories were as easy to disprove…

6. If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

It seems like there are an increasing amount of companies out there that are selling you promotion and really don’t do much then after getting paid…you can sink a lot of money into those as a young band. Please don’t feed those demons.

7. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

Don’t Give In is the first song we really take a political stance and try to wake up people in terms of acknowledging climate change and that there is a need to go to the streets and protest. We’ll also be part of a protest in September so we try to live what we preach.

We also often try to provide a nice backdrop for the listener’s imagination, where they can fill in their thoughts and take off.

8.  A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

This is an equally lazy as ingenious question and we appreciate the cheeky effort, so here’s the answer
