dj poolboi – „stay just a little while longer“ + Exclusive Interview

Hello, thank you for your time, please introduce yourself in a few words!

My name is Adam and I’m a producer from Austin Texas by the name dj poolboi

2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

I’ve just released my sophomore album “stay just a little while longer”. It was a long writing process and I’m really happy to finally have it out there for everyone to hear. I also just got back from my first European tour. I’m hoping to get back out and play more shows ASAP, right now we’re looking at a show in LA and in NY and possibly a North American tour before heading back to Europe later in the year.

Some new videos will be coming shortly for a few tracks on my new album as well!

3. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

Hmm I’m not sure, I try to write music as honestly as possible. I’d like people to know that I listen to many genres of music and I like to keep things fresh and try new styles and sounds. I never want to be typecast into one specific style or genre and always want to progress and keep moving.

4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

I suppose I dress fairly goth, I like wearing all black and in a sense I think that reflects the emotional nature of the music. However the style would change from track to track so I’m not sure there’s one that would describe my music in its entirety. Some tracks could be minimal some tracks could be Gucci haha

5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

Generally I like to end the songs with an overall positive message of hope. Topics include depression and love, but I always want to convey that if you’re feeling in a bad place that it can get better and that there are people around you that care about you.

6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?

Sometimes I’m good at billiards, but I think most of my talents extend to music and instruments. I used to make short films however I think I have an eye for cinematography/ directing. I also like writing poetry

7. Being on stage feels like….!

It’s a combination of nervousness and excitement that creates this beautiful feeling. It makes me feel alive and feeding off the energy of the crowd is a wonderful thing, I love being on stage more than anything

8. How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??

I was formally taught in school to play drums. So that was and will always be what I’m best at, I’ve been playing for many many years. I taught myself piano since high school and every new instrument I pick up I’m self taught. Lots of YouTube tutorial videos and learning songs

9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

Have you ever swallowed a rock?

Yes when I was 5 years old I swallowed a small rock, it seemed like a good idea at the time, I have no regrets
