Dickies Partners with Tokyo Design Collective for Exclusive FW24 Collection

Dickies, the iconic American workwear brand, proudly announces its collaboration with the Tokyo Design Collective (TDC) for an exclusive collection. This partnership brings together a talented team of five members, including a creative director, two designers, and two skilled product developers, primarily hailing from the esteemed Bunka Fashion College in Japan.

The vision behind this collaboration, “Japan for Japan for the rest of the world” reflects the significant influence of Japanese fashion on global trends. The collective has previously showcased this philosophy through collaborations with renowned brands such as Vans, Timberland, and Smartwool, solidifying their reputation in the sportswear and outdoor industries.

The Dickies x TDC collection reimagines the Gorpcore trend while honouring the brand’s workwear roots. Featuring distinct pocket details – including multiple internal pockets – this utilitarian inspiration pays homage to Dickies’ legacy. Oversized and boxy silhouettes capture the essence of modern streetwear, making them a perfect fit for the Gen Z demographic. The expertise of TDC’s in-house pattern makers has been instrumental in achieving this blend of style and functionality.

A standout feature of this collection is its unique fabric combination, which marries Dickies’ signature materials, such as twill, with exceptional Japanese textiles like Taslan and the distinctive OCTA fleece. This fusion enhances the collection’s visual appeal and ensures durability and comfort for everyday wear.
