Dante Klein – ‘La Musica’ + Exclusive Interview

Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to zip on while they listen to your new music?

Thank you! It’s a pleasure. Well, since it’s all about grooving and partying I would say: let’s zip on a vodka sprite with some ice? That’s always a great drink if you ask me.

2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

I just launched my very first track ‘La Musica’ on my own brand new record label named ‘Garden Party Records’. I’m heading in a new music direction which feels amazing. Much more house and club oriented.
La Musica is just a hint of what’s about to come so stay tuned!

About those new videos: 3 weeks ago I had the honor to close at the pre-party of Medusa Festival in Spain. You can watch the after movie on my Instagram.

3. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)

Haha fun question! Lately someone told me this story about a place (somewhere far in the middle of the United States) called the headquarters of aliens. I did some research and later on I saw multiple videos on TikTok about this conspiracy theory. If you have the right coordinates (which I found) you can search on Google Maps and see those headquarters blurred in the shape of this Starwars spaceship called Millennium Falcon. I could give you the coordinates but then I’ll have to make you disappear..

4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

I would describe my new music as energetic, colourful/playful, trendy. It’s simply a blend of different genres. The first brands I was thinking of were Heron Preston, Chimi Eyewear and Off White. Just because if you look them up they have everything I’ve just mentioned.

5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

All I can tell is that I’m working on a lot of new club and festival music. I love to combine different genres and vibes in a track. For example I combined a lot of Latin and African vibes (vocals mostly) with more House/ Tech House grooves and some Techno vibes here and there. I’m always on the hunt for that magic spark. Something special that stands out and makes a song unique. Sometimes it means that I’m working on a track for months and in some cases I can finish a track in a day. Unfortunately there is no magic formula other than keep working.

6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?

I wish I could say something like skydiving, doing magic tricks or make fire within seconds haha. Unfortunately I suck at all of them or didn’t do it yet, but I can say that I’m quite good in a lot of active sports with competition. Besides that I love to cook and organise extensive dinners with friends, not sure if my friends would say that cooking is a special talent of mine..

7. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

1 – I love to wear oversized black t-shirts, so boring but so comfortable.
2 – I become most creative at night.
3 – In Italian restaurants I always want to order pasta, but it’s never enough since I can eat a lot so I end up ordering an additional pizza.
4 – My favourite colour is turquoise, but you won’t find it anywhere in my closet/home or using it in any way weird enough.
5 – Energy is super important to me in its broadest sense. Energy of people I want to connect with (or not). Energy I’m giving and receiving on stage and my inner energy to make sure I’m sending out the good frequencies. This all sounds really spiritual and well, maybe I am in some way but don’t worry. I’m not a woo-woo kinda guy.
Overall I’m quite down to earth.

8. How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play??

It all started with a dream and just playing around in my bedroom with the smallest dj set you could possibly think of. I had this friend back in the days who started a few months earlier with DJ’ing and was able to give me some tips on how to beatmatch 2 songs, but in the end of the day it was all trial and error. I just kept on doing and enjoyed the process more than the outcome. That’s why I’m doing what I’m doing today. After mastering these DJ skills I started with learning how to produce (after I bought a new macbook pro from all my savings I earned with performing). I’ve always followed my gut feeling, worked hard and turned dreams into a reality.

A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

“ What food do you like to eat the most on holidays compared to when you’re in Amsterdam “

I love paella a lot, but only the original version with fish. The problem is that you always have to order it for a minimum of 2 persons and somehow I always manage to go out for lunch or dinner with people that don’t eat fish… So I’m never able to eat paella on holidays.. First world problems right?
