COS DEBUTS ITS AUTUMN WINTER 2023 ATELIER COLLECTION AT NEW YORK FASHION WEEK

COS unveils its latest Atelier collection, marking the third season of the capsule since debuting at New York Fashion Week last year. Designed at the brand’s London in-house atelier, the collection embodies the essence of COS’ design philosophy, paying strong attention to craftsmanship, fit, and considered fabric choices.

The Autumn Winter 2023 collection takes inspiration from organic prints often seen within nature. Rich brown hues are paired with navy blue and soft neutrals, while accents of brushed metallics take the looks seamlessly from day to evening. Considered material choices offer an effortless sense of fluidity, which complements carefully tailored structure throughout the collection. Dramatic maxi-length knitted dresses are presented alongside a textured hand-crocheted set, which sees a cocooned vest paired with a mini skirt, and matching knitted hood, all crafted from Responsible Mohair Standard mohair and wool.

Traditional tailoring techniques have been applied and reworked to challenge and update the fit of classic wardrobe staples, creating modern silhouettes. Boasting elevated sets across both womenswear and menswear, deconstruction techniques result in considered details, such as oversized tuxedo lapels crafted in satin. Womenswear presents an open-back blazer constructed from Responsible Wool Standard Wool which is designed to showcase a draped cowl back halterneck waistcoat in silk. Menswear sees classically tailored suits reimagined in soft leather and finished with
contemporary raw edges. Leather elements continue throughout the womenswear collection; structured bags complement a ready-to-wear coat that utilises left-over material from the production of other garments, creating a unique silhouette with organic movement.

Sterling silver architectural accessories accent the collection, metal hardware juxtaposes the soft leather of the collection’s bags. Silver and recycled brass spheres feature across belts, leather sandals, and jewellery, including a set of statement ornamental brooches.
