Cooper Bloom new single „Drinkin Alone“ + Exclusive Interview

1. Hello, thank you for your time, please introduce yourself in a few words!

Hey there – my name is Cooper Bloom! I’m a singer, songwriter, and dancer raised just outside Toronto, Ontario.

2. Please give us an update about – new single, new album, tour dates, new videos?!

I recently released my debut single “Drinkin Alone”! I know it’s my single and all… but I have to admit, I literally can’t stop dancing and singing along to it. I am so proud and grateful for everyone involved in creating this track, and it sets the tone for what’s to come next. Speaking of what’s coming next, follow me… I have tons of exciting stuff coming soon!

3. Name 5 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

  1. I’ve been dancing and singing since the age of two – at first, it was just for friends and family, but as I got older it advanced to competitive dancing where I was able to take it more seriously. Performing has always been and will always be one of my happiest places.
  2. Since I’m born in late July, I’m a Leo! My sun is in Cancer, and my Moon is in Libra.
  3. I draw a lot of my inspiration from the LGBTQIA+ community. When I was old enough, I practically went to the drag bars every weekend – unlike other clubs, I felt I could wear whatever I wanted, dance however I wanted to, and not a single person would judge me. This ultimately inspired me to create music that forms a safe space & community where others can be authentically themselves. Something I realized while out at the gay clubs, was that I was dancing to straight artists talking about their lives behind closed doors. However, I never heard any gay artists doing the same. It then became my mission to break down barriers and make it more of a “norm” to hear gay artists talking about sex
  4. I’m a proud Canadian! I was born just outside Toronto, Ontario in a town called Newmarket. Working with artists, songwriters, and producers who are also Canadian is very important to me!
  5. Before I go to sleep, I need to have a full glass of water or I can’t fall asleep!

4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

I like to play around with all types of looks, so I don’t think I could describe my fashion style as anything other than fun, colourful, and unique. Why be normal? That’s so boring…

5. Do you have bad habits? A guilty pleasure you can’t seem to quit?

My bad habit is binge-watching shows on Netflix. I legitimately had to cancel my membership because I was pulling all-nighters just to finish the seasons I was watching. Like The Good Place… how can you not binge-watch shows like that?

6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?

I don’t know if you would call this time management or not, but I’d say one of my special talents is knowing exactly how long it will take to do a task, get to a destination, make something, etc. – right down to the second. For example, if I tell one of my friends I will pick them up at 4, I will pull into their driveway the second the clock turns from 3:59 to 4:00. It’s like I know how many red lights and stops I will get ahead of time… It’s kind of odd, but cool!

7. Being on stage feels like….!

Being on stage feels so natural to me. Of course, beforehand I get nervous and excited all at once, but once I am on stage it feels like I belong there. Knowing that everything I had been working for all led up to one moment is such a thrill!

8. Must Have – and No-Go in your Wardrobe! – Favorite Fashion Brand and Fragrance?

A must-have in my wardrobe would be jewellery. I feel like my outfit isn’t complete until I have my rings, bracelets, and/ or a necklace on. I don’t think you’ll ever see me without at least one of these pieces on. A no-go in my wardrobe would have to be anything with real fur… no thank you!

I recently came across the designer ‘MICHAEL NGO”, and I am obsessed with the iconic, out of this world, pop star designs – would love to work together one day! My favourite fragrance would be L’immensité by Louis Vuitton – such a gorgeous smell!

9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

I see myself making waves in the music industry. This means having songs played on the radio that openly talk about what I do behind closed doors, dressing however I want to with confidence, and being the voice that I would have loved growing up.
