Claude – „Layla (Take Me On Your Way)“ + Exclusive Interview

1. Thank you very much for your time! Before we introduce your new release to our readers – what kind of drink would you recommend to sip on while they listen to your new music?

I am a big fan of Latte coffee, so personally I would recommend drinking one of those! It has nothing to do with the music, I just enjoy them

2. Please give us an update about – new single, album, tour dates, new videos?!

I just released my new single ‘Layla’ worldwide, so listeners can enjoy some new music. There has also been a music video released with this song. I am very proud of this release, so I hope others can enjoy it too! A tour is something that I would definitely like to do in the future, but for now I am focusing on the festivals this summer.

3. We live in times of many conspiracy theories. Which, harmless, theory would you wish were true? (For example Dinos living inside Earth or E.T. living in a home in California)

4. What fashion style or brand would best describe your music?

Good question… I like a fashion style that is quite simple and classy, like for instance Shawn Mendes’ style. It shouldn’t be too over the top. But I would not call my music simple haha. My current songs are quite the opposite; energetic, catchy and cheerful.

5. Tell us more about your songs! Topics! Message!?

Ladada

‘Ladada (Mes Dernier Mots)’ is about letting go and moving on from a breakup, but it can mean letting go of anything else to others. The message behind this song is mostly: “don’t dwell on the past too long, leave the past behind, no matter how difficult it can be, and live your life… So, ladada”.

Layla

The song ‘Layla’ is about a girl named Layla, but it remains a mystery to the listener who she really is. The song contains all the ingredients to make you dance: it’s uptempo and very cheerful!

6. Beside music, do you have any special talents?

I would not say that I am extremely good at something besides music. But in the ‘Layla’ music video I got to learn a dance choreography for the first time and I think this went quite well. So, maybe dancing is another talent of mine!

7. Name 4 things we all should know about you as an artist?!

  1. I know French because I am originally from Congo
  2. My first show was in front of 15.000 people
  3. I became an artist through a singing contest
  4. I am a big fan of Lewis Capaldi

8. How did you learn to sing/ to write/ to play?

I have always been around music because my family loves it. So, we were always singing and making music at home. I have always loved to sing, but I did not really think of making a career out of it until later. I also did not study music. I just decided to join a singing contest. I won that contest, got to sign my first record deal and look where I am now. I am learning a lot from all my new experiences and I will continue to learn about all things related to music, but I do not have an education in the field. However, after everything that happened the last months, I can only be happy and I am thrilled that I can do something with my passion.

9. A question you’d like to answer, but never been asked in an interview before?! + Answer pls

I think I have never been asked what my favorite movie is. I really liked A Fall From Grace!
