Chalet village Valsegg: Everything is on retreat

The last Christmas cookies have been eaten, the empty champagne bottles have been disposed of in the waste glass container and the relatives are back where you want them to be. When the social Christmas holidays and New Year’s Eve are over, it’s time to retreat and recharge your batteries for the new year. The desire for a place where you can sort your thoughts and fully enjoy the winter arises. And this place, which has a magical cosiness, especially in the cold season, is another real insider tip: the chalet village of Valsegg.

Shortly before the village of Vals at the entrance to the Pustertal, between the edge of the forest and a large meadow, there is a small village with 17 lovingly built and furnished natural chalets with up to 150 m2 of living space. Of these, eight new buildings were only added this summer. It is a corner of the ideal world at 1,300m altitude, its own cosmos with natural luxury and country life, which surrounds its guests like a cocoon and transmits its natural powers and essences and, above all, its peace to every visitor. “Just take it easy” is not for nothing the motto of the chalet village, which has been welcoming guests since 2017. The thick blanket of snow that covers the landscape acts like a silencer. The noise of the world becomes quieter, the carousel of thoughts turns more slowly. From Valsegg, guests can roam endlessly through forests and meadows and follow the animal tracks. If you like, grab a pair of snowshoes or a sledge and turn a winter walk into a real micro-adventure. The sporty exuberance of ski tourers and skiers is also fulfilled here.

Nothing gets the endorphins pumping like coming back to the cozy warmth after a few hours in the fresh winter air. In their chalet, guests can feel like they are in a fortress against rush and stress and like they are in a personal refuge of security. Valsegg has taken care of this with lots of solid wood from its own forest, valuable loden fabrics, fine wool and natural stone. And since most guests don’t want to leave their chalet because of the coziness, they also find their own private spa with a Finnish sauna, hot tub, free-standing bathtub and adventure shower. But the Waldbad, the chalet village’s own bathhouse, which opened two years ago, also invites you to relax with its relaxation areas, the large, well-tempered natural stone infinity pool, treatment rooms and an exercise room for yoga and singing bowl sessions.

Right at the entrance to the South Tyrolean Pustertal there is a small village with 17 lovingly built and furnished natural chalets with 78 to 150 m2 of living space. It is a piece of ideal world at 1,300m altitude, its own cosmos with natural luxury and country life. If you want to retreat from the outside world, you can spread out in the spacious chalets and let yourself be pampered by the Waldbad spa team, the spa temple with treatment rooms, relaxation areas, yoga room and infinity pool. If you need peace and quiet, you can have the multi-course dinner brought directly to your chalet.

The dishes meet the highest culinary standards and place great value on fresh, regional and specially grown food. Anyone who wants to eat among people is welcome at Valsegg Eggile, the chalet village’s new restaurant. In the morning there is a delicious mountain breakfast with all kinds of delicacies. But Valsegg also offers a home to all active people who see their chalet as a base for all kinds of excursions: walks, hikes, bike tours, alpine hopping, fishing, trips to swimming lakes, or in winter skiing, tobogganing, snowshoe hikes and much more. Shopping trips to Brixen or Bruneck are also just a short drive away. Valsegg is unsophisticated diversity for travelers with children and dogs, couples and solo travelers, for the young and the young at heart, for athletes and those seeking peace and quiet, for pleasure seekers and nature lovers – in every season.
