ADVENTURE MEETS PRECISION IN THE NEW KHAKI AVIATION PILOT COLLECTION FROM HAMILTON

Pilots have relied on Hamilton watches in the cockpit for over a century. Hamilton watches were chosen as early as 1918 when it came to the first US airmail flight times between New York and Washington, D.C. to stop. And even today, Hamilton’s timepieces still occupy an absolute leading position when it comes to pioneering pilot’s watches. With the introduction of seven new models to the Khaki Aviation Pilot collection, we now combine our long history of timekeeping in the air with our passion for adventure.

The collection was created for real lovers of aviation and goes perfectly with an outfit with a worn leather flight jacket and aviator glasses – Khaki’s joy of discovery and adventure can be felt here. The robust and technically reliable watches are powered by our H-10 automatic movement (at 36mm) and H-30 automatic movement (at 42mm) with a power reserve of 80 hours and NivachronTM balance spring. So that the watches can be read quickly and reliably even in poor lighting conditions, the hour and minute hands have a coating with the Swiss Super-LumiNova® of class X1. The Class X1 composition is the newest and highest performing coating known for its sustained luminosity. In addition, the numbers on the dial are particularly large for extremely easy readability.

Although the series is inspired by heaven, the models are built for all sorts of things Adventures in everyday life. At the end of the day, the collection is khaki through and through. Since excursions don’t always go according to plan, all models are waterproof up to 10 bar (100 meters).

The Khaki Aviation Pilot collection includes four models measuring 36mm and three measuring 42mm. With this collection, we are for the first time departing from the pure pilot’s watches that have previously been common and moving more towards timepieces that can be worn every day. Although these more compact designs meet the precision standards that prevail in the cockpit, they are not only suitable for life in the air, but also on solid ground.

The 36mm models combine a timeless stainless steel bracelet with a black or midnight blue dial – reminiscent of the clear view of the sky that you have from the cockpit at night. However, the combination of a white leather strap and a silver-white dial makes you think of an endless cloud cover. The rose-colored leather strap next to the midnight blue dial in a case with a rose gold-colored coating ultimately represents the contrast between light and darkness that the pilot can admire from the cockpit at daybreak. The three well-proportioned 42 mm models have a window with day of the week and date display as well as nickel-plated hour and second hands.
